Great little kit
I will admit, this is my first foray into growing plants. That being said, it seems like everything that is needed to ensure the success of this kit is included in the box. It has gravel, dirt, seeds and the small draining pot. There are also instructions on how to start the seeds and how to plant the seeds. I was impressed with the instructionsThe gravel and dirt are, well, gravel and dirt. I don't think there's anything special about either of these pieces of the box set - I guess there's plenty of it, so you won't have to go looking for anymore dirt. The Pot is really nice. I think you'd have to play baseball with it if you were trying to break it. It's thick ceramic and looks exactly how you'd imagine it from the picture. It's pretty small, so be prepared to find a larger pot eventually. What I'm most impressed with were the seeds, and maybe that's because that's what made me the most nervous. There are ~10 seeds in the pouch. I've only had the seeds planted for about 5 days now, so I can't testify to the success ratio of my seeds, but it seems like 10 would be plenty to get at least one tree. I planted 5 in my pot and I have 5 more in some starter planter I picked up from the local hardware store.

The pot and everything mentioned in the description came in great condition. and over all
I received this kit about eight weeks ago and began to stratify the seeds on the same day. This method is easy to do and not very time consuming. you simply let the seeds set in hotish water and let them set for about 24 hours it is good to add a little hydrogen perxoside to the water to pervent molding later. if any seeds are still floating by the of that time frame it means they aren't good. then you place them in a moist paper towel in a zip lock bag, finally placing them at the bottom of your fridge for between 4 to 8 weeks. check on them once a week and after this time frame you can move them into the pot and keep them watered. The pot and everything mentioned in the description came in the package and looks great. I have 2 of the seeds growing, one in the back corner and he'll be moved once he's grown more they are in the picture. the important thing to remember with trees is that they have all the time in the world to grow, and they take patience. they'll grow with they think they've gone through winter and are comfy in their new home.

Tiny and not as expected
It took a long time to get here and once it arrived it is extremely small like 2 inches by 3 inches if that. There is no instructions no markings on the box just a small pot, a tiny bag of soil three seeds and some rocks. It did come in a much bigger box but I throughly checked that box and nothing but packing peanuts in it.. I’ll have to try to research how to grow this. It was supposed to be a birthday present for my husband who’s really into gardening and is part Japanese. Hopefully he can figure this out. 🤦🏽♀️

Patience
Started this is in May and it’s now September. At the advice of others I followed online instructions for germination instead of using the instructions provided. As you can see, one of the seeds has sprouted about 2 inches and has a healthy looking leaf starting to appear. The other 2 seeds opened, but no sprout, so not sure they will yield anything. I’ll post updates as needed.

Disappointed waste of money three seeds only
I really thought this would be an amazing gift to give to my aunt for her birthday, was super excited it showed up a day before her birthday… upon opening the package to see that everything was in there and everything looks good…I was terribly disappointed to see that I only received three seeds..3 only.I’m not exactly sure what I spent all my money on but I do believe this company could’ve provided a few more seeds.Extremely disappointed, A waste of money, And I wouldn’t recommend this to an enemy!I feel I was ripped off and deceived three seeds when it’s difficult to grow, You need to germinate the seeds and when you only have three the probability of it working out..zero!Save your money this company is a rip off while it seems like it might be a great wonderful gift to give somebody who loves unusual items, enjoys gardening… this is not the gift.Seriously disappointed!!!!!!!!

Make sure seeds are not DUDS!!!
Followed instructions that were provided however after doing further research I found out you have to soak the seeds 24 to 48 in warm water, then place them in a zip lock bag with a wet paper towel in the fridge for about 4 to 8 weeks. NONE of this information is on the instructions that is provided with the items. I had to take the seeds out of the pot and place them in water to soak and all seeds are floating which only mean one thing and ONE thing only and that is any seeds that float are probably empty shells and are not usually viable for germination. Meaning nothing is going to sprout and ALL FIVE of my seeds are floating. So disappointed because I felt that this would be a cool little thing my sings and I can have as one of "our thing" as well teach them responsibility and how to take care of another living organism as well respect it.

Very limited detail on how to grow the bonsai. ...
Very limited detail on how to grow the bonsai. The pot is very small but cute. I guess if it was around $5 I would definitely say 5 stars but it gets 3 because it's just very basic. I feel they could have added more detail but nope. I followed the instructions and so far, no tree. :(

Patience is a virtue.
Great to give as a gift small and cute, my eight year old is very eager to plant and begin. My box came with instructions inside and also on the seed bag with multiple seeds as well, the extra gravel and potting soil also just in case I suppose.. look I don't know what the heck the other reviews were expecting but this was perfect and exactly what I purchased..You are starting to grow a tree from seed..You do realize that trees take a very long time to grow and the point of bonsai is for relaxation and meditation not for a quick and easy fix. If you are wanting to grow something fast perhaps you should look into saplings or purchase a full grown item at a much larger cost.
