I can’t say enough about this product shipping was great! Packaging was flawless! And quality is second to non. I own dozens of swords of all kinds . Bought as a gift and I decided to keep it for myself. It’s absolutely beautiful and under 80$ is amazing I’ve spent 2-300$ swords that aren’t close to the quality of this sword . I will be buying from Makoto in the near future.

Usually the higher price the katana has, the less functional it is. I been searching for a good sword for quite a bit and bought a lots of "good" and WRONGs; the idea of this katana itself, is literally not only good quality but also highly functional. Functionalities are including the ratio and balance of the blade in compared to the handle; handle wrap materials and Saya quality and how tight/lose the Saya is when you putting back the blade...etc What the most outstanding feature on this beautiful piece is; when I "sliding" it back the blade back to Saya, as like how a real samurai shall does, I feel all smooth and slick feeling in alone all the single second when doing this action. That means not only this sword is highly balanced from tip to toe, also it was built for practical usage --- chopping, cutting, displaying or self-defense. The edge is not that too sharp because usually a real practical sword is not going to be razor as a "prevention" for accidentally 'SELF-Cutting' or degrading the hardness of the blade as whole. Along all this amazing features, I'd say I found a good tool for my immortal arsenal.

Killer deal,very sharp,long tang,super (leather or other) handle wrap one of the best I`ve seen.The guard has it`s relief in the wrong place,you can not see it when your hand is on the handle.The sheath is wood encased in plastic and sewn in leather or other! Excellent.

This is worth it for the sheath alone. The sword was a nice bonus, and it's a pretty good sword considering the price point. Very sharp – felled saplings easily.

The sword is very beautifully but when I barely tapped against one of my other katanas it chipped which was very irritating and the blade was at and angle and one of the pegs kept popping out

Honestly a really beautiful blade, amazing scabbard with an adjustable strap. Came way faster than expected, and was MORE than worth the money.

The Bottom Line is This Sword is worth the MoneyIf you need something for general self defense and don't have the time or money for gun safety classes this is your best betIf you want something that will stop an actual ninja from killing you in a sword fight, I would be very carefulThe Sharpness of this blade is a huge Plus. Make no mistake this is a katana and just as sharp and dangerous as any other.That being said the hardness of the blade is an issue. A Katana being sharp simply isn't enough. I dented the cutting edge after one strike against a thin metal bird feeding pole. The best made katanas are made to cut through steel!The scabbard is also a problem as any good sword needs a way to prevent it from cutting it's owner during stealthy movements. Sadly, the sword slipped from the scabbard while I was in the midst of a cartwheel and it bit into my finger. Next time I will wear gloves. The strap also doesn't fit rightThat Being said it is definitely a Lower end sword Although I am not an expert in these things . It's kind of funny and weird that amazon actually is allowed to sell such deadly weapons !I think if I do end up buying another katana I will get a shorter one as it's hard to unsheath it while it hangs against my back in the scabbard . I am not sure my arms are long enough me being 1.73 Meters tall.

I wanna ask what the sword is actually made out of, the details say it’s stainless steel, but the description says carbon steel. Which one is right?
