Fun but messy
I bought this for my five-year-old son for Christmas. He loved digging and finding all of the little treasures. It took him a couple days and I just let him dig on it as he wanted to until it was completed. He did get some help from his older siblings. The treasure itself is fun for the younger age, but it was easier for him to have an older child or adults helping him out. This is definitely a messy project. So just be ready for that.It comes with a little treasure chest to put all of your treasures in. He loves it!I am only taking off 1/2 a star because it seems like most of the little treasures are found on the outside. There was a huge chunk left and we weren’t sure if there is anything left in it. It may have lasted a little bit longer if there was stuff in the middle as well.

Just Okay
The egg itself is pretty big and my 5 year old was very excited to pick it apart and get the dinosaurs out. HOWEVER, the tools provided with the egg are basically useless, they are too small and it would take a small child a long time using them to even get one dinosaur out. I had to improvise and give my 5 year old a hammer (yes, a hammer) to get the dino’s out. After the hammer was given it took no time getting them out, and he was very excited to pull the small creatures out and let me read to him what each one was based off the cards.Do I think it’s a great idea for children who loves dinosaurs? Absolutely but keep in mind to have something heavier that your child could use under your supervision to break the egg with.
