Why is this so expensive currently?

Classic and timeless. Have owned mine several years. Character revolves back to original Sega game. Will probably be revisited if you care to wait it out.

Is the articulation improved?

It's the same as the initial release however the joints do seem to be more quality. The legs can do the splits and he can kick forward very well. the arms are still the biggest issue but the paint is MILES above the first release, it is very detailed.
