Portable Ultra Violet Black Light lamp & Torch. UV Blacklight

I bought this light together with a UV marker pen as part of an art project. The light works great in the dark, as expected, but what surprised me is that it worked quite well in daylight too. I mean, I had to hold it closer to the surface of course. But since I was making my art during the day (of course) it came in handy being able to see clearly what I was doing.I didn't really need much use of the torch but it was quite bright. My only problem was the switch, it's quite sensitive so when I was carrying the torch in my bag it would keep turning on and off. So it's best kept in one place.

Needed a UV light to check documents at work. Works great for the purpose; though the light is not strong and is practically redundant in ambient light environments.Also proves a fun gadget. After a while you start discovering random security marks on things (have a look at your driving licence). Highly recommended for all other than industrial uses.NOTE: DOES NOT INCLUDE THE BATTERIES.

Not great quality but at least it has a UV bulb. The bulb cover doesn't fit properly. Batteries need to be installed .... positive end up nearest the bulb, negative end up for the remaining row.

Arrived securely packed in three days. My initial impressions were that this little UV light was quite cheap and plasticky. In particular, the three-way Torch/Off/UV switch has a rather sloppy action and is not always easy to set to the desired position. But, fair's fair; this IS a very cheap device and the bottom line is that it works. After inserting the 4 x AA batteries, being careful to observe polarity, I switched on and the mini UV tube fired instantly into life. It's not the brightest but, in a fairly dark room, it is very effective. I used it to check which corners a cat had been using for a toilet and, yes the parfum de chat does fluoresce under this light - provided you hold the lamp within a couple of feet of the affected surface. Obviously, if you're using this to check the authenticity of banknotes, you'll need to pass the light over them even closer, and again this works very well - I never knew the 10 in a £10 note could look so colourful!You obviously can't expect great quality at this bargain basement price, but for a very modest outlay, with postage included, it's hard to fault this effective little UV light.

This item arrived broke - battery contact solder was cracked so it didn't work. I repaired it because I wanted to use it quickly and it was too cheap an item to send back anyway. I didn't contact the seller because it wasn't worth it - they might be great guys and I'll never know. The product is extremely flimsy even for the money (it's almost genius that it stays together long enough to be delivered - oh wait! mine didn't), the UV light is VERY weak. Some have said not UV - I think it is a UV bulb but a really poor one, in a pitch dark room with the UV bulb about 1cm from the marks made on products with a regular green highlighter - there is a slight but definitely discernible reflected light. The 'security pen' provided doesn't do anything (at all: even with a much stronger UV light) so I guess its just filled with water or spare chemicals as ink - in my humble opinion their pen is best chucked out in garbage that won't go to landfill. As for the main product - follow local refuse guidelines.

We have just moved into a property. Previous owners had small dog who had left it's mark all over. I cleaned the carpets lots of times but the odour was still there. Did some research online & found we needed a black light before we could deal with the problem. So ordered this one . It took a while to arrive but it was certainly worth the wait. This shows all the marks where this pooch had been, So was able to deal with the problem swiftly. Great tool for the money.

Depending on why you want this, depends on if the reviews good or not. It does the job in small situation, maybe not so good in a bigger open space, hotel room cleanliness…?

I cant say i love this product as the reason i bought it was because our cats had taken a liking to spraying in the house and we were recommended by the vets to purchase one to find out were they where doing it. It did the job it was required to do and as a bonus has a great torch on it too.
