Initial impressions pretty good
**UPDATE** Had an issue come up with this. I'm certain it's not a common problem that happened. I emailed the seller, and Amazon said expect an answer in 2-3 days. They responded next day and immediately resolved the issue. I already rated 5 stars, but with the experience I had with their customer service I can say their customer service is also 5 star. Also I did end up mounting directly to the deck: no issues with that.I just got this delivered. Picked no-rush so Amazon shipped it USPS, no damage or anything.Assembly is a breeze. Just four screws, four washers, and a wrench that comes with it and about 3 minutes and it was ready to go! Pretty simple mechanism so as long as you're not trying to crank it too much I don't see this breaking too easy, which I'm a fan of.The "base" it comes with is an x-shaped light metal base and it won't hold the weight of the umbrella by itself when it's opened. There are holes in the base where you can mount it to a deck if you didn't plan on moving at all and don't mind putting more holes in your deck. I had my own base on my previous umbrella; however, the pole that this umbrella is attached to already has some pegs that stick out, and won't go in the base well. That and the base I had would have been too low once the umbrella was raised. I'm thinking I may be able to find another metal pipe, cut out the peg area, and should be good enough to support this. Either that or you'll have to get some water weight bases made for these (I know the seller has them, or you may have them from another umbrella set). I didn't take a star away since they put in the description you'd need the additional base, but I should have looked more into it thinking I had a base that would be compatible (which I didn't).The umbrella itself it a good size and seems to be a pretty sturdy material. It opened up just fine, no issues though shorter people may have some issue since the crank is pretty high up there. I'm about 5'6" and had to reach a little. I just have to find the right place to put the umbrella since the sun is right in our backyard starting early afternoon to night and changes position. Wish you were able to tilt this but I don't even think that mechanic would have been feasible since it's an offset umbrella so not knocking off anything for that.Again, I'll check back after a little bit of usage to see how it holds up.Summary:Overall solid purchaseIf you have a base make sure it'll fit, or be ready to get a base that'll work with it or screw it to the deckSUPER easy assembly

great poolside umbrella
This is a great poolside umbrella. It is so nice in that it extends out over the pool so you can actually relax on a float in the shade - much cooler and not get fried by the sun! It was so easy to assemble with simple pictured instructions. Great design how it extends out, locks in, then you crank open the umbrella. Nice features of a velcro strap that secures the edge of the opened canopy to the pole in case of wind. This keeps it from flopping around. I also like the velcro tabs at the end of each rib that allows you to easily attach lights so it is a beautiful night feature too. When you close the umbrella it has another velcro strap that wraps the umbrella and secures it to the pole nicely. The fabric is thick and durable. I actually forgot and left it open in a downpour and there was a nice 10 foot section of the pool with no water churning it up! So I don't plan to use it over a table but it would seem to work well to keep rain off the table as long as it is not blowing too bad. Overall very happy with purchase!

**Updated Review** What a disappointment! Some plastic parts should be metal.
***UPDATE*** Bluu reached out to me after posting this review in an effort to right what I felt was wrong with this product. Belle, the agent I communicated with went above and beyond to provide the best customer service. Not only did they offer to refund my money, but she offered to send me their new and improved umbrella. Within two days of emailing me, a new umbrella arrived at my doorstep, free of cost. And I didn't have to hassle with trying to return the defected one, what a relief!! Due to the weather in my demographics, I will not be able to try the new umbrella out yet. However, because this company is focused on pleasing their customers, and reached out to me to correct the issue, I felt it was only fair to increase their rating no matter what I think of the new umbrella. Once weather allows, I will give the new umbrella a try and come back to update as necessary. Thank you Belle at Bluu for going above and beyond!I am SO disappointed with this product!! I purchased this umbrella back in May, but I wasn't even able to put it up and use it until late July since our deck was being rebuilt from ground up. It is very easy to assemble and set up, that much is true. Our deck sets up off the back of our house fairly high, as it is second story level, so my husband bolted all four legs down to the deck. The first two times we used it, it was lovely--provided much needed shade and gently swayed in 2 mph winds. The third and final time we used it, I noticed upon opening it, the material was already faded a bit from the sun (you could see where it had been strapped closed w/ the velcro straps). I could live with a little fading. Again, we had an intermittent breeze, less than 3 mph when all of a sudden the umbrella appeared to really begin to sag. We thought maybe it was because we didn't lock it open well enough. Upon closer inspection, we noticed it had actually broken at the plastic part that holds the umbrella material, and attaches to the end of the pole! We couldn't reel it closed all the way, as it would only close so much and begin to reopen again. We tried to reel it open all the way, which it does, but it just dangles from the cord too low--hanging right at eye level. Now it is completely useless. We only got to use this thing THREE times! And since I didn't even open it for use until almost two months later, I'm outside of my return window. How disappointing!!!! :0( I did so much research and put much thought into selecting an appropriate patio umbrella specifically because I did not want to end up in this predicament. What a waste....I feel like it would've been much sturdier if that little plastic piece was actually metal, just like the poles.
