FamoWood40022112 Latex Wood Filler - Pint, Cherry/Dark Mahogany

Easy to apply, easy to sand, easy to stain or paint. For one project I mixed a little stain right into the wood filler to match the color of the wood...came out nice.

The media could not be loaded. Very durable. Used it on my kitchen island to fill some holes. Makes my counter more hygienic since food can no longer get stuck in the holes. I plan to stain it to match a little better, but the product itself works very well. Good value.

Hard to sand but beside that it's great drys pretty fast good quality good for value . My dog chewd the crap out of my chairs and it covered the big bite marks mind you I have a huge dog I thought I was going to have throw thew away but it fixed them and some hard work of sanding and staining them again

Had to use these to fill in mortise pockets in doors. Bought a set of plastic Michaels palette knives which helped immensely in filling and smoothing process. When using to fill big holes, suggest using real wood like dowels, wood blocks, or toothpicks to give the filler something to bind to, like a skeleton. Big hole fills take a good 24-48 hours to dry but was able to sand and stain as advertised.

First time user and impressed. Used to repair delaminating wood embossed fiberglass on my Therma-Tru door entry unit. Removed loose fiberglass and lightly sanded with 60 grit. Applied FamoWood and contoured with detail sander. Used ThermaTru fiberglass stain which matched the FamoWood and original fiberglass laminate. Applied clear latex protective paint without any difficulty. Since this is an outside patch, time will tell how weathering will affect it.

Looks good initially but after some humidity, the filler will crack and bulge up under a painted layer. Find something that can actually bond. I bought many of these and used, I regret it now that I have to fix and paint again.

I was worried that this wouldn’t stain well, but it did not let me down. I had a rental property where I had to fill in several gouges and a couple deep holes in a real solid wood floor, let this dry for a full 24 hours (it only recommend something like 30 minutes), I then sanded it, cleaned the floor, moped and stained it with Miniwax Mahogany stain. The stain took and the floor is almost an exact match at around 95%, you can only tell when looking at it in certain directions and because I had so many areas to fill (some being about 1/2 wide), no one else has noticed though so maybe I slightly notice because I know it’s there. I’ll buy this in the future if I ever need it again.
