Fantastic mouse, forget the b/s reviews they are all just stupid users.
I am in LOVE with this mouse. All the negative reviews are full of s***.First off, the cable, is NOT stiff, at all. It seems that way, but once you unravel it, its fine. I have zero issues with it.Secondly, people complained that one of the thumb buttons doesn't work right. Well if you installed the Roccat software, you'd notice that the "back" thumb button is actually set to "shift+" which allows all buttons to have 2 uses instead of one, like a shift key. Simply change the shift+ to "ie back" and bam, just like every other mouse. The software is flawless, some said it takes to long for the program to update the mouse when you apply settings, they must have a slow PC because it doesn't take long at all.I came from using many mice. In my time my absolute favorite mouse (RIP) is the old first gen Microsoft optical (400dpi). It was the lightest, easiest mouse to use and worked flawlessly for gaming. After that mouse died years later and Microsoft never selling the exact model anymore, I had gone to razer. I had used mice like the death adder, lachesis, all first gen versions were junk. The lachesis was laser which is god awful of a product, considering your mouse would jitter a crossed the screen from the acceleration, sad. Owned it for a short time until it broke and I tossed it in the trash. After that I had a Logitech g-whatever mouse, like the oldschool first gen version of the g400. everyone at the time was buying them, and as much as I liked the mouse, I hated the buggy logitech software. Then I had given razer another chance with the first gen death adder. It was the best mouse they made IMO. But, it still wasn't good enough. My first one cable wore on the edge of the desk, so I got another logitech g-whatever and then its braided cable ripped on the back edge of the desk so I got another death adder. From there ive had so many mice i can't even begin to remember them all. Lately i had been using a Cooler Master CM Storm SPAWN mouse. Brilliant shape, felt great, but the optical device inside felt lacking. I knew it wasn't perfect, but for the time i dealt with it knowing i didn't want another crappy razer product, not to mention razers crappy software they now have that I personally don't like.So I recently bought this little bad bitch, the ROCCAT Kone Pure Optical. What a lovely mouse. Fits my hand perfectly, literally the perfect size for my hand. The material its made of or painted with is brilliant. Its soft touch and man is it soft. My hand doesn't get sweaty have long play sessions like the other mice. (the razer products have that glossy paint job that my hand sweats, and the cooler master spawn had rubber thumb side and regular paint side which caused my hand to sweat, this for some reason doesn't!).The optical sensor, is so effing nice. I haven't had such a smooth optical mouse in a long time. Its so nice in fact, that apparently i had gotten used to mice being inaccurate when playing fps to where i am now missing shots because of overcompensation. But im slowly learning proper aim again with a mouse that isn't s***ty.

small and pricey
Ok this mouse is small. I have medium hands with short fat stubby fingers. The length of the mouse is perfect for short fingers. But a medium palm person might feel as the ring and pinky finger are too close and feels unnatural. The mouse needs a tiny bit wider feel for that palm/claw grip. The mouse is definitely a claw grip style and palming seems only troublesome the way the ring finger and pinky sit. 8/10Now the materials on the mouse is the same as the mionix. It's a soft silk feel. It feels slippery in dry hands and can be hard to grip. But after a few warm up rounds and your hands start to steam up the material sticks to your hand. After a hour of use you can clearly see your finger placement where your fingers have rubbed off or discolored the material. Now the material is soft and feels good. But it leaves permanent finger prints. 9/10The mouse buttons are perfect. They click nice with not too much force. The mouse wheel is the best part. It scrolls perfectly and middle mouse clicking is perfect pressure to click it. 10/10Software installed perfectly and didn't need to wait long to play around with settings. You can change dpi settings only with the preset dpi levels in the program. They range from 400 800 1200 and so forth. You can not set the dpi exactly 1000 or anything like that. But you get to set the levels on the different settings and have the cool voice dude talk to you and tell you which dpi level you are on. Unfortunately there is no lift off distance adjustment. And the lift off distance can be a bit high for some people. You can change any color you want the roccat logo to. And there is a mouse achievement function in the software to follow your mouse clicks and scroll clicks. 9/110Cons.No weight adjustmentsExact dpi adjustment. (Preset dpi levels)Finger prints. (Faded material where fingers rest)No lift off distance settingProsLed lights are custom to your likingvoice feedback for dpi levelSmall design for small hands (con for large hands)Optical laser for great precision.Overall it's a good mouse. It's not for picky people. It's a bit small even for a medium size hand person. But the mouse does not feel cheap and feels sturdy. It looks cool with my cm storm quickfire ultimate.9/10 normal people8/10 picky person

High quality mouse but long-term reliability suffers
The mouse itself is good and the software has all the basic features one would expect. Macro functionality is poor and lacks common abilities like repeating an action while a key is held (instead limiting you to setting a fixed number of repeats that can't be interrupted). The main reason that keeps the mouse down is its reliability. The build quality feels solid, nothing rattles or shakes, and overall seems like a premium product, but I've had three of them in the past two years and they've all eventually broken down with issues like it disconnecting from the computer, randomly moving the cursor to the side, skipping around, and similar problems. The issues persist between multiple different computers so it's not related to that and the sensor gets cleaned plenty. It's not an issue of dust or particles blocking the optic; for whatever reason the mouse just breaks down. Use is relatively light and it's not like it gets slammed down or thrown around. My current one is getting some issues with it starting to develop once again and I'm feeling that it's time to move on to a completely different mouse instead of seeking a replacement. For reference, in the past ~8 months the mouse software has recorded the following usage stats:4,493,756 left mouse clicks323,551 right mouse clicks468,079 scrolls167,265 m. in distance movedThis is a good amount of usage and 8 months isn't exactly a short time, but other mice I've had have lasted longer and done the same as this one does. Keep in mind your mileage may vary and if you're willing to take the chance at having the mouse die on you, for the price point it's a solid performer. The saying that candles that burn twice as bright last half as long comes to mind.

Overkill has never come so cheap. FOUR THOUSAND DEE PEE AYE!!!
Best gaming mouse I have ever come across. And you better believe I come across them all the time. Super comfortable rubberized surface has taught me important lessons in hygiene as I find myself washing my hands before I sit down at the computer lest I tarnish this impeccably crafted mouse.Comes loaded with tons of functions and customizable options that I will never have the patience to sit down and set up. But they're there, so I guess that's cool? The logo even lights up with your choice of colour from a whopping set of 16,800,000 colours! Perfect for when you need your mouse to shine with that super specific tone that isn't quite nearly green, yet not really all that blue, maybe like 3/5ths of the way there? Whatever, tomorrow you'll discover that the next colour over, even though indistinguishable, was REALLY the one you wanted. Comes in off, on, and blinking (for the masochist in you).I used to own the laser version of this mouse, however after a trivial scuffle with a friend, the wiring became exposed, so I had to replace it, even though it worked fine (I'm really picky and pedantic about my possessions). Decided to get the optical version instead, and as a result of this one simple decision, my gaming skill has skyrocketed dramatically. I used to be a loser who constantly had negative k/d, and this mouse has helped me become one of the top MLG players. It's also gotten me laid.

Near perfection
I, like many of you, suffer small man hand syndrome and when my G700 recently died I picked out a small wireless mouse in my cupboard and realised I prefered the smaller size.Enter this mouse - its small, really small. It also happens to be the highest quality mouse I've ever used, from Logitech to Mionix to the extreme bottom with the likes of Razer. This mouse uses omron switches on the side for christ sake, some mice don't even use these for the main buttons. The body is exceptionally soft, some liken it to satin, which can be slippery for some people. My fingers are not bone dry and it is a joy to use. Grip wise, I use finger tip. I can claw this mouse fine as well - to palm its a bit to small but you can use a hybrid betwen palm and claw and its still fairly comfortable.HOWEVER, being a finger tipper I need to lift the mouse off the mat maybe 1mm to reposition it quickly. This is this mouses mega downfall - its lift off distance is absurd. Opticals are known for their higher lift off, yes, but this is really really high at around 1cm++. Too detrimental to game play. I have used a Deathadder 2013 which is also optical and the lift off on that mouse is extremely low at around 1-2mm. Sadly the quality is far lower. If you have smaller hands and don't need to lift the mouse regularly, this is a fantastic little bugger and I wish I could have kept it.

Fantastico
