Pro-Tec 62309 Athletics Gel-Force Ankle Support, Large, Blue

my husband and i are both (apparently injury-prone) runners. he sprained his ankle pretty badly on a run and was out for about 8 weeks. a friend recommended this sleeve to help support his ankle when he started running again, but it was still too tender for the compression. HOWEVER, then i turned MY ankle on a run, and it swelled up, so i immediately ordered myself one and when i was ready to run again, i wore it and had peace of mind that my ankle had a little extra protection. it doesn't prevent your ankle from moving, but does add some compression and support. i was worried it would add too much bulk or be uncomfortable in my shoe, and it has been totally fine! i do have to wear my roomier shoes because it takes up a little space with its thickness so pushes my foot forward a little so that my toes got sore in my smaller shoes. my husband has been wearing his now - we look really cool on runs together with matching left-ankle support sleeves. also, i don't know which is correct, but i wear mine over my sock, and he wears his under his.

I just wanted to leave as a heads up as I have bought these ankle supports for the last several years, due to them being very supportive, but still having them fit in a soccer cleat. I bought a new pair over the last several days, and when they arrived they were not the same support as before. The new version does not have the stays. I reached out to Pro Tec, and verified that they had in fact made some changes to the brace, and do not make a version now with stays along the outside of the brace. The picture is still of the old version. I can’t speak to the performance yet, but would imagine they don’t feel as stable. Pro Tec said that they do have extra gel inserts meant to take the place of the stays. We’ll see.

I was excited to try it when I play soccer. It seems like a good product and it was recommended to me by a friend...however, I ordered a LARGE and it seems way too loose around my ankle and lower shin. I wear a size 11 so according to the size chart I should order the LARGE, but it seems as though I need a MEDIUM instead. I would love to replace it, just not sure the best way to go about it on Amazon. Inexperienced Amazon shopper here, any help/advice would ve greatly appreciated.

I have MS and due to a few relapses I have no feeling in my ankle and toes. Even with daily medicine walking can be troublesome. I decided to buy this product to help me with support and circulation. This product is amazing. I can walk and even sit through an 11 inning baseball game and my ankles and feet feel great. As soon as I put them on I can feel the blood circulating up and down my legs, what a relief! I highly recommend the gel force ankle sleeves to anyone like me who needs that extra support. For those of you complaining about getting them on; put a plastic sandwitch bag on your foot then remove it after they slide on!

I like the fit of the top - the sleeve provides compression as promised. The gel pads are a little painful sometimes, especially when worn for long periods of time. My biggest problem with this is that the bottom, where your toes come out, seems to be too loose. I feel like if it were just a little tighter I could get more compression, the kind I'm really looking for. I wish I hadn't ordered up as recommended and went with the manufacturer's sizing instead.

These look good in theory but I'm unable to wear this brace for more than 3 hours. It is heavy and uncomfortable. Well made but what you can not see in the photo are the beefy support ribs along the ankle. While they serve a purpose, they are almost too much. I'm on my feet all day and thought this brace would be a good, inexpensive solution for weak ankles. Not so much.

I still have the support shown in the first picture and hoped to by a back up. Other reviews stated they offer a different support now. I had hoped it would be close to original, even if it quite as good. Unfortunately, it is not even close.It does give good compression and I can wear it with my regular and dress shoes. It has thicker, softer gel inserts. They are, useless. They do nothing for ankle support, which is why I really wanted the original.If you want something strictly for compression and something that can be worn unnoticed with dress socks, I wear my old one to work when needed, it'll be ok. If you want any extra support, don't bother. Hopefully they'll start making the old version again.

Fits great. A little bulky inside the sock & shoe because of the gel pads on the sides. Wore them all day in the desert over the New Years holiday and my bad ankle survived.

Don’t go by their sizing posted. I have a 9.5 shoe size so it said I would be a medium. I went with a large after reading other reviews and it fits but is still on the smaller size.

This is great! Fit is great. Comfort is great. It works for me. I will probably buy this again so I will have clean one every day. Just rinse and drip dry. Takes about two days to be dry

I was initially quite pleased with this but ran into an issue when I washed it. I was using it at the gym when I needed some ankle support and after a few uses decided I better wash it. The interior adhesive that held the cloth over the gel padding came loose and made it impossible to put the sleeve on without the padding moving. So, while I liked it initially, it wasn't durable and can't be washed in a machine.

Was a good product when I had a severe ankle roll. Helped me get back into things with low stress to the ankles quicker (like cycling)

I ordered two of the same ankle supports and received two different supports.
