Better than YakTrax Run
I run on snow and ice covered roads for most of the winter. For the past few years, I've been using YakTrax Run, which work okay for traction but do not last more than 200 to 250 miles so I needed at least two pairs to get through the winter. When the last pair wore out, I decided to shop for something else. The Korkers are actually a little more comfortable on hard surfaces ( my running route crosses a highway bridge which is usually bare asphalt): the YakTrax with their coils felt a little like running on marbles, the Korkers are more like tap shoes. The Korkers are maybe not quite as stable on packed snow but much better on ice. They also have a much more secure mounting system on the shoes: not only does the YakTrax system tend to slip, but I found that the Velcro band across the front of the foot caused pressure on my toes. Despite being "one size fits all," the mounting system on the Korkers is entirely rubber and fits my size 8 shoes like a glove.Where I'm hoping the Korkers will really excel is in durability. The YakTrax metal coils collapse and break, the relatively thin rubber gridwork that holds the coils together breaks, and the small cleats at the ball of the foot fall out. The Korkers cleats are much larger and replaceable if (or when) they fall out or wear down.If the Korkers make it thought this winter, I will declare them a clear winner!December 1, 2024 -- My Korkers made it through the winter and then some! They've held up now for almost 4 years BUT I just got a pair of Topo running shoes with a wide toe box and -- darn it! -- the Korkers run aren't wide enough to fit in the toe box. So if you use Altra or Topo running shoes, it's probably best to look for something else. I would still highly recommend them for "conventional" running shoes!

Great tracktion
Work great on the ice. However if you wear Hoka shoes they don't fit very well in the wide heal so it is a bit of a struggle to get them on, hence the 4 star. All my other running shoes they are an easy on and off so 5 star

Reliable, stable on ice
I like that this item really grips the ice, and that I feel safe walking on our icy driveway and road. (As an older woman I am very conscious of trying to prevent falls, so I use trekking poles for extra stability.) But I must say that it was quite difficult to adjust the straps to make them shorter for a secure, tight fit. However, when that was finally accomplished, the fit is perfect and secure, and there is enough stretch to make the item easy to put on and take off shoes or boots. I definitely would recommend this product over similar ones that I have tried.

Don’t work for someone with a heel strike
Purchased these for trail running in MN. Trialed these on trails that had about six inches of snowfall. Some were packed down by snowmobiles, others had some foot traffic. The heel traction didn’t stay put, it constantly rolled back onto the back of my heel, rendering it useless. These might be ok if you have a forefoot or mid foot strike but not a heel strike. Also found these to be pretty heavy. Took them off about three miles in and carried them. My feet were much happier. Ended up returning these today. If there was a strap down the center then they would have stayed on.

Ran 5 miles on ice
Wow these are great ! I can use my favorite running shoes and these spikes stay in place don't come off or rotate.Great secure feeling running on roads / bikepath covered in ice / snow and spillery wood boardwalk! Installed on my Nike Zoom Alphafly's sise 7.5 M/9W shoes. Used to put screws in my old shoes but the screws come out after couple of runs. These feel natural not like the other product with coils under your foot.

Wow!!!
I live in northern Idaho and these make my winter walks so completely safe. I'm 70 yrs. old, walk hills daily, and these are the best!!

Disappointed
These did not work for me. The first run I took them on was on a hard packed trail with icy spots. The cleats would not stay on. The rear cleats kept slipping up over my heal and the front kept slipping off my toe. I tried several time to change the tension but still had to fix every quarter mile or so. I have already returned them.

Wouldn’t stay on my feet
Great when they stayed on the shoe, but fell off enough times through the course of a singleRun that I won’t recommend.I was wearing brooks ghost size 9.5 B. Had them adjusted to fit tight as possible.
