The Complete Asterix Box set (38 titles)

Classic that every child should know. My children love them and the box is great to keep them safe and in one place.

Sentimental purchase straight from childhood. As someone mentioned in the comments before: the books are IN a BOX but it is NOT a BOX SET. I threw away the carton box, and it would have been nicer to have them all together in one place.

I purchased this collection because it had 38 books, the other box set I was considering had 37 books. Asterix and the Chieftain's Daughter was released 6 months ago and is book #38. While the books obviously come in a box, it's not a display box so you have to pull each book out to find the one you want. I feel that for $250+ a display box would be a nice addition. This really is a great set and if you're a big Asterix fan it's definitely worth adding to your collection. I grew up on these books so it's awesome that I get to take the adventure again with my son as we read them together. One of my pictures shows the spines with the authors names. You can see where Uderzo took over after Goscinny sadly passed in 1977 and then when Uderzo retired and handed responsibilities of the books to Ferri/Conrad. I haven't read the newer books yet but I'm sure they follow the same great format as Ferri/Conrad were mentored by Uderzo. There is something wrong about the Description of the books in the product page. It says 7.87 x 5.51 x 1.57 inches which made me think that this is some kind of a hardbound, smaller version of the original books ( like Tintin). No, it is not. This is the original book size that I have seen since my childhood. 8.75" x 11.5". Totally worth it. Books arrived well ahead of promised time. Extremely well wrapped like an Egyptian mummy ( styrofoam lined plastic tape - first time I have seen this). Double wrapped. You can put this in water and nothing will happen. Well boxed. All in all a great product and buy

The speed of delivery and condition of the books were above expectations. The packaging was such that the collection could have probably been air-dropped from five hundred feet without damage. Opening the package was like cracking a safe. As noted, the books were in perfect condition, the printing and art are crystal clear and the colors are bright. My only criticism is that the books are not numbered on their covers. If you manage to scramble them you can refer to the list inside most front covers to straighten them out. It is easier to put number stickers on them right after you finally get the box open. My grandson is a huge Asterix fan and this hoard will provide me with lots of birthday, Christmas and just-because gifts that I know will be appreciated.

Even if the boxing and two books were a bit damaged, the price is great for the whole collection.

It just feels more legitimate to have each story in its own book with its own cover, and these are the good, large size (unlike the newer version) so they're easy to read. The cool cardboard box was double boxed but still got damaged, but the books themselves are fine. These are also the original British English translation which I prefer (not the recent American one). My 7-year-old can't get enough of these, the stories are so fun and the illustrations are just awesome. I actually learn some history from these stories, although be aware they are cartoons drawn by white guys 50 years ago so they are occasionally racist and sexist.

I was a bit hesitant to buy this because of the mixed reviews. But I can confirm it’s worth it. I received all 40 books in the collection, so it’s up to date for 2024. No missing books, no damage and the prints are legit.

This was a proper trip down memory lane for me; I used to love reading these books when I was at school, I liked the varied stories, the humour and loved the artwork. In fact, whenever I’ve read them years later I learnt to appreciate that the humour could appeal on both levels, for younger AND more mature readers. And when I saw that you could buy the collection in one set I couldn’t resist it, I had to buy it! It was offered at a good overall price and was packaged in a lovely presentation slipcase. Delivered quickly and well protected. The set is perfect for either reading them in order or just dipping into randomly for a more casual read. The only way that this set could be possibly improved is if it comprised of the hardback copies; although I know you can buy those individually, it’s just nice to be able to buy the whole collection as a box set. It’s a real shame that the authors have passed away and there won’t be any more. Highly recommended!

The set of Asterix is totally amazing. I used to borrow them from a library when I was a kid. Today I own my own collection and I am proud of it. The rate that I purchased them is also totally awesome.

I am a happy buyer and great to know that product that I buy online with Amazon always on time and product description as advertised. This book set is a good buy! My children are over the moon.

I have read that the product was no original, that the box was damaged, in general a bad product, I took the risk, and the product is excellent, the books have a great quality, the box is quite fragile, but more due to the weight of the books, all the 38 books arrived in excellent condition, maybe the box a little "damaged" in the bottom, but in general the box has a 8/10 mark.
