I started birth control and of course a side effect is continuous menstruel bleeding initially. My boyfriend was coming into town and quite frankly I wanted sex lol. After doing a lot of research I stumbled across these gems. I got them and soaked them in water and hydrogen peroxide to clean. I let them dry over night . Inserting was absolutely no problem I just used a little yoni oil. I was afraid he'd feel it during sex but it was never mentioned . Not a drop of blood was visually during sex and it felt no different to me. I was so scared that it would be hard getting out. I just pushed like I was giving birth while my fingers were inside, pinched to sponge to slide it out. I could see the sponge had obsorbed some blood but it didn't leak at all during sex. So if you want to have mess free period sex, these are the go to!

These sponges are excellent quality and can be used for so much! I currently use these for makeup removal, my period (menstrual cycle), sex (adds cushion for a low cervix) and makeup application. but all in all, these are amazingly great quality and recommend them without reservation. The biggest impact has been for my periods and sex of course. Cramps...gone, super absorbent and also clean! Sex is amazing again, with the extra cushioning no more "ouch!!!"and my skin looks flawless. A few tips:1. always always clean these thoroughly before use. They are from the sea floor, and even if the manufacturer does a prelim clean, always do your own and get mini scissors because there will be sand, grit, shoot, one time I pulled out a seaweed haha. I normally soak mine in warm water for 10 minutes, Squeeze to check for bones, then hold them to the light and snip the debris away. After that, I rinse again, then soak them in water mixed with hydrogen peroxide for another 10 minutes. Rinse, then soak in 1tbs baking soda for 10 minutes, rinse, one more check under the light, then dry. Easy peasy and super clean! :)2. If using for menstrual or cervix, WET THEM FIRST, then twist them into a tampon like shape and pop them in. They will conform to your shape and won't even feel a thing :) And don't be afraid to trim them as well if needed3. Before makeup application WET THEM FIRSTSo there you go. Great quality, multiple uses, no cramps anymore and great sex, add in wonderful looking makeup application, these gems are worth their weight in gold! :) Just clean them first

I bought these sponges with the intentions of using it as a plug after the insertion of my cup so I could stop buying pads as I always leak out of my menstrual cup. These sponges came quicker than expected! Arrived in 1 day with the second day of my period so I figured what the heck let's try it now. When I got home from work I soaked them in 1 tablespoon of peroxide mixed with a bowl of water for about 10 to 12 minutes. After the soak I throughly checked them all for debris or shells and to my surprise they were all pretty clean only a few spots in some where something needed to be taken out. I showered and figured since I'm headed to bed I'll just try the sponge alone instead of with my cup. Picked the biggest one since my flow is a little heavy. Inserting was incredibly easy just made sure it was damp and stuck it inside. I figured I'd wear a pad as back up for the bloody mess I'd probably have to clean up in the morning since I was still unsure about this product. First let me tell you these are extremely comfortable didnt even feel it inside me all night. Went to bed around 10:22pm and woke up around 5:30am so the sponge was there for a good 7 hours. Headed to the bathroom thinking I'd have a mess to clean up and to my surprise there was only a little spotting in the pad. Pulling it out was super easy, just beared down and grabbed the end came right out! Cleaned it out in the sink with cool water as I heard this helps get the clots out easier. Everything rinsed out just fine, reinserted and then came to write this review. Glad I tried out this product!

I am an 86 year old gal and have used Max Factor pancake makeup since I was 16 years old...and you can't use one without the other...the best makeup sponges like Constantia. Thank you, Constantia for still out there for us gals...love the bag of sponges I recently purchased and will feel more "comfortable" now that I know my makeup sponges are still out there...Jeane Cross

These are great sponges. I actually use them as menstrual sponges. Most of them are very soft, I think I had two of them that I wouldn’t call necessarily soft enough to use for the specific purpose of menstrual sponges. They do have small pieces of sea junk inside them, so I definitely suggest you go through them, when wet, even if you THINK you don’t see anything, and get the excess extras out. I used tweezers to pull anything like bits of shells etc out and it worked fine... there honestly wasn’t that much stuff left inside them, but enough where it’s worth going through. I then used boiling hot water and some tea tree oil and disinfected them to my standards before use. It worked fine and I’ve had no infections or issues from using them for menstrual purposes. There were quite a few good sized sponges as well as plenty of smaller sponges. So, a good variety of both enough for me to be pleased with them. I highly recommend them!

I bought these to use as reusable tampons. They come in slightly irregular shapes, but that's no problem because I can trim them to the size/shape I need. These sponges are more soft than the sponges that were advertised as tampons. They're silky smooth and I will definitely be buying again. A couple of them did have some shell particles in them, so just make sure to get them wet and squeeze every part of the sponge to check for any sharp/irritating objects and use tweezers to remove before using on any sensitive areas. =)

Although these wonderful sponges are meant for beauty and I do love them for that reason ... I have another reason for using some of them. I am an ART TEACHER for Seniors and find that their hands can use them to fill in back grounds, create leaves in cluster, etc. love them.

Perfect size to use as a biodegradable alternative to synthetic makeup application sponges!The sponges need wetting before use to make them flexible and, as sea sponges are grown and not made, it's worth just checking your sponge over before first use in case there are bits stuck in them.The sponges come in a pretty tasselled gifft bag but unfortunately it is made of plastic fibres. Wrapping the gift bag overall in a small polythene bag may have been to prevent moisture getting through to the sponges but I would encourage the manufacturer to use less environmentally damaging packaging materials to complement an eco-friendly product.

This is the second pack of these sponges I have bought, but this one did not seem to be quite as good quality as the first one. Some of the sponges are very open with large holes (natural sponge holes, I mean) inside them, and the large ones are cut quite square instead of being a nice natural round shape. They seem to be good and firm though. The measurements are as advertised. I wish the pack was half large and half small.

I use these sponges for a variety of purposes. The larger ones do a great job exfoliating when you scrub without being too harsh on your skin. Smaller ones make great applicators for makeup. They are just convenient to have around.
