OverboardWaterproof Phone Case

This product really works. I use it to listen to my iPod touch in the shower and at the pool. It has never leaked once. The buttons can be pushed easily even when it's in the case.

I already have a small case that is tight with my iphone 5, making it difficult to see the top of the phone or use the camera. The small one used to fit the iphone 4 with an Otter case- it was perfect for the 4, but it will only fit an iphone 5 with a slim case and still cuts off visibility at the edges of the phone. I wanted to buy a second one to keep in my bike bag- and spent way too much time looking at descriptions, reviews and the manufacturer website to try to figure out how to get one big enough. These are poorly advertised all around- no one makes it clear which ones float and which large ones fit which phones- except for the manufacturer's site. They have one that floats that is made for the Galaxy and larger smart phones that looked just right- but they were out of stock. This was my best guess for the same thing from Amazon- but it is not what I got. From this link, the "large" case is an extra long one made for flip phones. It's way too long for the iphone, but since I can't find the large shorter one, I'm going to keep it anyway. It does give full visibility and is wide enough to fit a case. I'll have to fold over the edge to fit in my bag or a pocket, but since now they're recommending that you keep the desiccant pack in the case whenever it's humid, there is room for that at the bottom. With the small case and the iphone 5 there definitely is not. I'd like to see the different sizes and features made much clearer online. I do wish I'd gotten the shorter large one. But I will say that I've looked all over at sporting goods stores for something that will keep my phone dry, after having to replace it once already, and this is the best, easiest to use product I've found.

UPDATE: Well, around the 10th time I used it, it leaked - dead phone. Can no longer recommend product. Original review follows:I got the long/large size, and the first thing I noticed was that while the product pictures show that both the front and back panels are clear (allowing photos to be taken with the rear camera, for example) the one I received had a clear front and an opaque black back, so no underwater photos for me.Also, the large/long is really long and large - it easily held my Nokia Lumia 920 (5.13 x 2.79 x 0.42 inches) with room to spare, so much so that we were also able to slide my wife's iPhone 5 in beside it (4.87 x 2.31 x .3 inches), and I was even able to put a spare car key in there as well.We've used it a couple of times and everything has remained bone dry, although I haven't taken it deeper than about 5 feet in fresh water.Overall this is a good solution, but I'd prefer one with a clear back in order to take the occasional underwater picture.

I use this at the pool, ocean and on the lake. It allows me to access my phone yet protect it from water and sand.

This product is great for a waterproof case but, the add here claims that it floats. This case did not float with my Iphone inside. I went back to the box and reviewed the packaging as well, it does not state that it floats on the packaging.

This product probably deserves 5 stars for what it is, but I found it a bit annoying that it took a picture every time I lifted it into or out of the water in camera mode. Other than that, it was a great way to take some quick underwater photos and keep my phone on me during dives and when snorkeling.

This might work if it's ony in the water for a moment, for instance if you drop your phone overboard - but if it's in for any length of time, it leaks

I tested it with toilet paper inside first. It floated and stayed dry. Haven't dropped my phone on the water yet but it appears to do its job.

I ordered the large phone case. The product when delivered had a ripped box with part of the back of the packaging missing. The illustrations for the product showed a flip phone suggesting this product is from the pre iPhone era (pre 2007!) and it says 'Designed for Flip and Clamshell Phones'. More than a decade old! The top of the case is hard plastic and seems to have been coated in something to make it grippy, but that grip coating has deteriorated due to its age presumably and made it horribly sticky, like its coated with honey or worse. I had an old remote control go similarly sticky. Size wise it only just fits my iPhone 11 (not pro). I'm yet to test the water proofness. Its not worth paying to send it back so I guess I'm stuck with it (literally).

No es una maravilla pero funciona bastante bien. Es estanco, pero hay que tener cuidado de no abrirlo con las manos o el equipo mojados para que no le entre agua. La unica pega es que mi telefono, un huawei de tamaño grande tiene la cámara de fotos en el extremo y queda tapada por el borde azul del plástico, por lo que no me sirve para sacar fotos.

Die Schutzhülle fürs Handy passt auch mit in die Tasche.Lieferung hat etwas länger gedauert.Preislich nicht ganz günstig, aber billiger als ein neues Handy.Ich kann die Tasche uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen. I purchased this to go on a trip to Hawaii with. Having blown all my money on the trip, I couldn't afford a fancy waterproof housing for my DSLR or a Go Pro, so thought I'd give this a try.Hesitantly I tested the case submerged under water for an hour with some tissue inside. The tissue came out bone dry. I decided to give it a more rigorous test by shaking it around a lot and holding it under a running tap and it was still bone dry. I therefore deemed it fit for my Iphone 5, although still a little apprehensive.These worries soon faded as I got to Hawaii and started using it. The case kept completely waterproof throughout my trip even in the most extreme scenarios. I could swim out into the 5ft-8ft surf and film the surfing whilst taking waves on the head with no problem to my phone. Managed to film turtles swimming under my own surfboard with it. Also snorkelled the coral reefs filming Nemo and his tropical counterparts to depths of two meters with no harm caused to my phone. It's so good being able to use a large viewfinder on your phone to film these things with.Advice: No fault of the case, but my Iphone's giro freaked out a bit underwater so had to switch on the rotation lock to stop it and also set it to airplane mode in case I made any accidental and costly underwater phone calls back to the UK. I suggest any one using it for similar functions, do the same. I reiterate though that this is no doing of the marvellous case and more the act of physics on the phones internal technology.I now use it regularly for swimming and surf fitness in conjunction with a GPS fitness app. I pop the phone in the case and strap round me with the handy adjustable cord that comes with it and it measures every metre I swim/paddle.At such a low cost it's incredible value for money.
