3M Scotch ATG 700 Adhesive Applicator, 1/2 in and 3/4 in wide rolls, Yellow

So easy to use. Great on the hand and works wonders. I would recommend this above the rest and I have tried a lot.

I received this 3M applicator a couple days ago and have already used it to attach backing paper to two framed paintings. Worked like a charm. No problems at all with tape getting fouled. Those who mentioned this probably didn't follow the very clear instructions on how to load the tape into the applicator, which is really easy to do. Applicator construction seems reasonably solid; certainly enough for what it's designed to do. I like the fact that it's adjustable for 1/2" and 3/4" wide tapes. And there is a spacer that's easy to remove or add that is needed for the 1/2" tape. Design is great. If you're mounting paper to the backs of framed pictures I'd recommend also the Logan Dust Cover Trimmer. It makes trimming the paper edges a snap.

This ATG pew-pew is the absolute best thing I have ever used in my crafting. The only downsides is the size of it and that for the price I expected it to come with the tape for the dispenser. Aside that the performance, Quality, and the adhesion are all top of the line. Will definitely purchase again.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Chose because it was 3M product and have always had good products. Be forewarned it does not come with the tape! But the product seems sturdy, now I will order the tape to see how it actually works.

Best bang for the Buck. I have use this particular model for well over 20 years as a professional picture framer. And I have only worn out one and I use them daily. I like this particular model better than I do the other designs. Maybe it’s because it was the first model that I used for ATG Guns. I recommend them highly. As with any ATG gun, you need to work a technique up in using them. Also, for a first time user, it might be a bit frustrating to thread your ATG but once you get it down, you have no problem. If purging out, you have a hard time getting it started just go to a local frame shop and have a framer show you how to do it.

It works well. Takes some practice to figure out how to load the tape correctly - they do a good job of explaining, but a tiny bit more clarity on which way to load the roll might help noobs. One small concern: the clear top opens up (to load the tape) via hinges on the top. These hinges are just flexible plastic, and I won't be surprised when they start to break after some use and flexing. Actual hinges (two parts, a pin, whatever) would be nicer, I think. Kinda surprising that it costs as much as it does, but a good tool costs money and is worth it in the end.

Well made and sturdy to use on a daily basis. I bought two. One I left as is and the second I converted it to 1/4 inch tape with an optional (separate) adaptor. That means a single unit can be used for either 3/4, 1/2 and 1/4 inch wide tape. Very happy - saves me tons of time. I use one with acid-free adhesive (a bit more pricey but OK) to speed mounting photos. Extremely versatile device. Every house with kids should have one. And of course if you have a business essential to have one. Amazon has it a different prices - shop around within Amazon and get the best price/delivery combo.

This is the same unit the professional picture framer uses where my wife has gotten pics done. Awesome adhesion and easy to use. Can't beat 3M when it comes to adhesives!
