"Speed" is a skip-counting card game designed to teach children to multiply and how to multiply faster. Two people play against each other to see who can get rid of all their cards first. Kids play this game because it's fun, but adults play to teach children to multiply. Once familiar with the numbers in a game, multiplication becomes simple. The game consists of eight decks of cards which are math fact answers to the multiplication tables. In order to win, kids must memorize the numbers which serves as a fun replacement for the majority of multiplication flash card work. After playing this game frequently, kids begin to recognize numerical patterns which help with learning numerous math concepts such as reducing fractions and factoring.

Seeing Improvement Already
Santa brought this for my 11 year old daughter who still struggles in knowing all her multiplication facts. The timed tests at school stressed my daughter out so she never learned the basic X facts. All she learned from the timed tests was that she's not good at Math. So not true. After reading No More Math Fact Frenzy we decided to take a different approach to mastering facts. First we made sure my daughter understood the concept of multiplication through concrete models. She was good. Then we purchased another game for her along with Santa's addition of SPEED. Speed by far was her favorite. After a month of playing 2-3 rounds an evening, she has mastered all her facts through 9. Now she plays SPEED with my 9 year old daughter who is well on her way to getting her facts mastered. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this game!

Overall, I would buy again.
We really enjoy playing with these cards. I was expecting a slightly flimsier card based on a few reviews, but I honestly was pleased with their thickness. Not as thick as some other kids card game cards but not as thin as I was expecting. I like to change up the game by having a couple different piles going at a time, the kids and I enjoy the extra challenge. It would have been nice if there were more cards per deck, there really isn't enough to play with more than two people.

Great idea, poor card quality.
This could be great, and I would love to give it 5 stars, but the cards are made from very thin card stock. So the cards are flimsy and bend very easily. One of the cards even came bent in the box. Given that this is a card game for kids, and a fast-paced one, it will not take long for the cards to be completely destroyed. I wish it were better quality then it would be a 5-star game.

Fun and truly educational
A very fun and educational game! Whether your child is just starting to learn multiplication or he just needs extra practice, they will love this game. I have used it with my 1st grader and 4th grader. The object of the game is to play each card on top of another card with the "next muliple". For example, when playing with the twos deck, a 6 may be played on a 4 or an 8. When playing with the fives deck, a 15 may be played on a 10 or a 20. The first player to run out of cards wins, so the faster they can recognize multiples the faster they can win!The only downside I saw to this game was the fact that it is only a 2 player game.

I had high hopes that my daughter would enjoy this educational game
The quality of the cards are marginal. They are much thinner than I expected and the dye rubs off on our hands while we play. I had high hopes that my daughter would enjoy this educational game, but it's not one she reaches for willingly.

pricey but helpful
Such a fun game. Its really helping us in our homeschool learning! They are pretty pricey thou for just a bunch of card stock and ink. But they are very helpful.

My son LOVES this game and it works
This really is as amazing as the other reviews suggest. We are using this together with Reflex Math (online computer game) and my son's math facts have taken off. He asks to play Speed all the time. I'd say the cards are of the same quality as most kids card games. They hold up fine. After MANY MANY games, they are getting a little banged up around the edges, but isn't that a good problem to have?I do agree the font is bad. I don't know what the manufacturer was thinking. But my son (6) got used to it and now does fine with it.
