What size is the best to use to cook on sitting on your I climb chairs?

Both sizes are great if you mean our Ultralight Anti-Sinking Chair. The large size table is higher and have more space than the small one. If you like solo camping, the small size would be great. If you have companions, pls choose the large size.

Can this product be used over a heat source for warning food?

No, it is not food grade Aluminum.
