Great fret file
I was looking for a fret leveling file for a guitar project I'm working on, but could not justify spending $60 for the StewMac version, mainly bc I am not a professional and will not be using it that often. I was a little concerned at first bc of the price, but I figured there was little risk, since it was Prime and I could always return it if it turned out to be junk. This was not the case- this file did the job, and did it very well. I even checked it with a straight edge and it was perfectly flat. Would definitely recommend to any hobbyist or anyone on a budget.

Needs a bit of fixing before use
Got this to help with fixing some fret sprout on a new travel guitar that I purchased.I have to go and actually file one end of the file! It's got some metal on one end that was actually digging into the frets some from where it was cut...very cheaply put together and machined, so not real impressed.I can fix it, but not impressed. The file should not do more damage than help.

File not attached to block
Just like the one in another review. File not attached to the wood block. Used some super glue to attach it back. So far, so good. It's just a file with the handle cut off and a cheap block of wood. Not impressed. Not worth the price, but what choice do we have here?

Rough
Be aware that this a double-cut file and not really suitable for fret work because it is too rough, The wood handle also had splinters and needs to covered or sanded down.

Good file for the money
When it arrived the file fell off the block so I used some super glue and put it back on. After it dried I gave it a go and it worked great! Much faster than the fret end files I had been using. Also the frets I just installed are stainless steel which was wearing my other files out fairly quickly but this little guy powers right through them. Would definitely buy again and would have givin it 5 stars if the file didn't fall off of the block.

Good tool but be careful with it
It worked for filing down the fret sprout on my squier strat. I can see how you could go to town and ruin your fretboard. Probably want the longer one for fret leveling, especially in the lower frets.

Arrived broken
Arrived broken. It's just a file that's been poorly glued to a piece of wood.

Have glue on hand or 3M double side tape!
Received item in two pieces, If you order this item you better have some good double-sided 3M tape or some good glue to glue the file back on!Now that I used 3M double sided tape it works okay,You shouldn’t have to fix it before you use it, not cool!
