Good little DVD writer for backing up DVD's
This is a really nice slimline design which takes up hardly any space and looks nice on my desk. It is lightweight so ideal for travelling too. I'm really glad I'm able to make use of my DVDs and watch films. This also allows me to make us of some of my PC games which haven't been played in a while. The plug and play feature is a relief as I was worried it might be hard to set up - it was really foolproof and didn't require any technical knowledge at all. Overall for the price this is really good value and I have already gotten a lot of use out of it.Actually I didn’t order this, I have been hacked, so who ever has written this, you have now been caught out !!!And can the seller get in contact please

Good product
Ordered new laptop for my daughter for language immersion course. However, it does not play cd's. This player was a god send. Was easy to use. Has worked very well and my baby girl is very happyThis drive has an adapter, allowing you to connect to either a USB-C port or a standard USB port. As soon as I plugged it in, the iMac (running Catalina macOS) found it, and set up everything with virtually no effort. It plays my audio CD's well on the iMac speakers, and will also write files to CD and DVD. It suits both my needs and my budget very well.

Cheap and easy way to add optical to a gaming rig
Built a new gaming rig and didn't bother with an optical drive. Seemed like a smart move at the time. Save some money, nice aesthetics, etc. Then I wanted to make a friend a mix CD for the car. Then I went to some gigs and bought CDs from the merch. Then I needed to load original .paks to play ioquake3.Few weeks later and it became apparent I needed an external CD burner. This is perfect. Smal, look good, comes with cables and works with my media.Haven't tried ripping region locked DVDs yet but worked fine so far for ripping and burning audio CDs and backing up data CDs.

Lightweight simple replacement
I found Windows 10 has stopped my ancient LG super multi from reading CDs. This device lets me do that again. Because of changes to the way windows 10 handles digital rights etc it's a bit of a fiddle to get it all working, but nothing wrong with this dvd burner. Also I'm using it via a powered usb hub and it works fine. It's simple and easy to use. Plays my CDs and DVDs with no issue with my laptopSimple set up, just plug and play. Lightweight. Reads cds at great speed.Good device, works exactly how is described.

Nice external DVD burner
works great, not much that can go wrong here. My only wish is that the cord was longer so I could leave it plugged into the back of my desktop pc and put the drive on top of my actual desk. The length of the cord is clearly visible in the picture so I cannot fault anyone but me for not paying attention to that. Cord wraps up in the bottom of the drive real well for portability. Nice design there. I can't say if it burns well just yet as I haven't any blank CDs, but so far it's a great budget reader.

Good and functional for the price.
Pros: Looks good, works, lightweight.Cons: USB-C adaptor is not a good fit with cable (but works), doesn't seem to want to go above 12x speed, despite being a 24x speed CD player, cheap construction.Ideal for a laptop without an optical drive, slower than I hoped but should serve it's purpose. Haven't tried the writing or DVD (wasn't bought for DVD though I have windows 10 so no player.) As it is inexpensive it feels cheap and I don't know how it will hold up carrying it about.Overall though good for the price.

Failed to record DVD after short time a few months.
I am disappointed, this was purchased as a previous drive had failed in a similar way. The reviews were all good for this drive. I assumed it was good quality. But now after a few months it is unable to write a DVD. I need to buy a replacement but don’t know who to trust. I can still record a CD but it fails to create a DVD correctly. I record two DVD’s per week. I do not feel this is excessive use.

My new laptop had no CD player.
I have a huge DVD collection but no way to play these on my newer laptop. This is a really nice slimline design which takes up hardly any space and looks nice on my desk. This also allows me to make us of some of my PC games which haven't been played in a while.
