Good quality, very light
There are 2 Nite Ize carabiners both size 4. This one is metal, another is plastic. I have both and each has good uses. If you're merely hanging lightweight items to your backpack then you're better off shedding an ounce or two and going plastic. If you want to carry up to 75 pounds, then this one is better. I've used it with a bear bag when hiking and it's worked great.

Awesome clips!
These s-biner clips are the best! They are great for holding water bottles to a belt loop while camping or hiking or attaching things to your pack. They are high quality and can withstand some abuse. I have both black and silver and love them! These things have so many uses, come in so many sizes, and are so handy to have you will find yourself wanting more of them.

Just seems iffy.
I recently bought one that was plastic and was initially very displeased because, well, it's freaking plastic. I didn't notice where it said plastic (in the title rather than the specs). It's now the s-biner that has my water bottle permanently attached on one side and the other side ends up on my bag or bike, depending - it's actually quite lovely. What's strange is that initially, the plastic seems better. The clips are way more sturdily placed than this metal S-biner. A mere touch and the clips will lean to other side and I realize that the clips aren't as important because, ideally, the rope or what have you will rely on the metal frame of the s-biner, not the clips, but perfect situations are not what a person should rely on. This, too, will be relegated to smaller items like my water bottle. I really adore the idea of the s-biner, but it seems like the traditional carabiner will always win out when it comes to anything where weight may be an issue. So four stars because I think the clip could be a bit sturdier, but it's not meant for super serious tasks anyway so I won't take it down to three. Oh, and: as a student I have Amazon Prime, so deliver was quite prompt! However, even without prime Amazon has amazing shipping speed.

Excellent "Mommy" hook
We stroll a City Mini with a Diono handlebar caddy. I use two of these clipped through the Diono velcro straps (one on each side) as accessory hooks. They will not clip around the rather thick handlebar, but the caddy straps work well. The free section of each s-biner is perfect for attaching the diaper bag or shopping bags to the handle of the stroller.* *The City Mini, like many other strollers, warns not to hang bags from the stroller's handle. I have tipped the City Mini twice, both times after removing the baby. Unless I loaded the diaper bag full of bricks, I doubt I could tip the occupied stroller. That said, I'm breaking the rules. I also cut the tag off my mattress.

Super handy everyday tool
We usually attach these to our dog leashes - lets you conveniently "tie" the leash to most things quickly - there are usually loops all around your car for example (loop within the door, loop within the trunk space) - you can also quickly wrap the leash around a tree or pole and clip into the leash itself - beats trying to tie a hitch and done in half the time. Can also be used to clip to canteens to add an extra handle - clip grocery bags together - I usually find some way to attach a s-biner to things! I keep a few on my riding packs just to have around - end up using them all the time - I feel like these bad boys are always getting "borrowed" and never finding their way back to me. These are made of metal, but they are susceptible to getting warped - not with your bare hands, but they can easily warp when jammed between, say, a closing car door. Also, the spring clip itself is a bit weaker than the S frame, very liable to getting damaged much before the frame does. When you are clipping and un-clipping stuff, just be careful stuff doesn't slip off. I haven't had the s-biner accidentally "opening" itself in the shuffle, but I have opened the clip and have things fall out because I wasn't paying attention.

Nifty clips
I think my husband ordered at least 6 of these. He uses them to hook things to his ruck (military). They are a good size and really sturdy, we used them for camping also. I would not use then for rappelling or anything like that but they sure are handy to have.

Good for Outdoor Use
I originally bought this item as a key ring, but discovered that I was accidentally squeezing the mechanism and dropping keys. Now I use it to fasten two sections of metal fencing together, When it is unclipped I can swing one section like a gate.. I plan on buying a few more to use in this manner, they are much better looking than the bungees I am also using, and so far pushing or pulling on the fence section does not release the carabiner clip. Mine has been outdoors for months now and is not rusted or damaged in any way.

These are well made and very useful. The ones with the little locking blocks on do work and make it harder to open
