product seems to be fresh and of good quality
I have no experience to compare this product to whole fruit or other sources. As far as I can tell it's quality freeze dried fruit.I just had to be able to say I tried durian before... Some people say it is plenty sweet and the best fruit they've eaten. Some say it has a lot of garlic/onion flavor like eating funnyuns. I like funyuns.... Some people say it just tastes like sweaty socks. These smelly little bits of dried fruit are kind of all of those. Like my brain just can't figure out what it should be and the taste keeps changing while it's in my mouth. I scraped little bits off a couple different pieces in case there was any difference between them. Maybe the thinner one was sweeter or it was just the last one I ate and the taste kept changing as I ate more of it. Luckily the bursts of rather disgusting flavor gave way to a mostly sweet aftertaste and I moved on to some other odd snacks I'd bought. But for some reason I couldn't stop going back to taste the durian. It seemed after awhile the less desirable flavors faded to something sort of savory and a day later I'm chewing up entire chunks instead of scraping little bits off.Overall durian is weird and I question if humans even evolved the necessary taste buds to be able to tell what durian fruit tastes like. Maybe you just have to grow up eating it to be able to fully appreciate it. Perhaps if I eat more it will continue to improve. I feel compelled to keep testing it until the package is empty. I tried to get a second opinion but my husband declined being part of the durian experiment.FYI coffee is pretty good at getting rid of the aftertaste if it turns out you can't stand it. Don't try eating sweet things or drinking juice. It will just result in all of it being equally disgusting and the taste may remain for hours.

Tastes like real Durians!
Love it! Reminds me of the durians I used to eat in Malaysia. Missed these so much. I see the fresh fruit in the store but don't have the nerve to buy the big hunk of a fruit to cut it open and package them in my fridge. Another advantage of buying these over the real ones are that they don't make your fridge smell. FYI it is powdery but once it's in your mouth it melts. I will probably buy these again.

Don’t do it
Maybe I got a bad batch? These were awful though. I usually love freeze dried fruit and im a fan of jack fruit but these tasted like straight up BUTT. Not like the taste of durian at all, slightly chemically, and like they were soaked in a dull flavor prior to being dried.

OK.
I'm probably one of those people who don't like durian much. Didn't know until I got this product. The subtle flavor of vomit is hard to ignore.

Positive Surprize
Wanted to show friends and students, what Durian is. I did not expect this to carry the smell - but it still shows the smell enough for students to shun back :) Tastes rich custardy. Convenient packing in smaller bags that allow stacked opening.

Was so fun and actually tasted great!
I really like this product! I had always wanted to try Durian, but didn't think I ever would as I live in the States, but now I have! It tasted really good and was packaged very well.

Interrsting product
I bought these never having tried durian before. Exactly what I was expecting. A roller coaster ride of flavors and aromas. Handed them out to people not knowing what they were and the shock value was great. Tasted them myself and some parts of the fruit were actually quite good but it's an acquired taste for sure.

Gross
This is considered a healthy snack. I consider it a healthy snack by NOT eating it. Horrible taste and texture. I was not familiar with Durian and I should have educated myself before ordering this. I am sure there are those that love it, my family is not one of them.
