(5/5) Works Well!
Like others before me who reviewed this bipod, I also went through a few cheap bipods before hand hoping to save money. In the end, I ultimately bought this bipod which works very well with my AR-15 and Rem 700. This 6 to 9 inch bipod works great at the bench rest and on the floor.Pro(s):- Very sturdy (this bipod NEVER "accidentally" collapsed even when shooting .308's)- Easy to adjust (stays between 6" to 9"; quick snap at 6" and 9")- Fast retraction- Minimal maintenance if any at all- Minimal slippage at the base (rubberized base tips)- Easy to install (will require an adapter if your rifle does not have a swivel sling stud; e.g. AR-15's)Con(s):- After shooting for a while (over a year now with this bipod), the tightening screw will begin to loosen as you shoot (I address a fix for this below)Note(s):- Made in the USA- Harris Engineering also makes a swiveling bipod (Harris Engineering S-BRM Hinged Base 6 - 9-Inch BiPod)Suggestion(s)/Recommendation(s):- Regarding the con of this bipod where the bottom tightening screw gets loose after a while, I simply applied a small drop of Henkel Corp 209728 Loctite Blue Threadlocker or Permatex 24200 Threadlocker Blue to create some resistance on the screw's threads. After letting it dry, I went to the range and I find that it stays on quite well and I can still unscrew it if I want to.- Just like any bipod with spring tension, be careful not to keep your fingers near the hinges or springs as it will pinch you severelyThank you for reading this review!

Great Bipod...
With the hundreds of Bipods available.... Harris has always been one of the top companies... and this is one of the reasons why. The bipod is constructed really well, and this is exactly what I was looking for as far as height adjustment. The springs are really strong, and as expected, it does take just a little strength to pull down the legs, but again, this is the way its supposed to be. Even better about this bipod is the quick closing buttons on both legs, that automatically bring down the height to the original 6 inches. Although most buyers will need the attachment (which is only 4 dollars here on amazon), it is a great addition to your armory... and the stability of this bipod is great for the price. Yes, there are other bipods from harris that are "more expensive", however, this is a great bipod that fits the bill just fine. I would recommend this bipod 100% for anyone looking for a 6-9 inch bipod.

Simple, lightweight and great for bench use.
The first one I ordered had two foot pads at slightly different heights (a QC issue). However, Amazon allowed me to return and replace with a better-made unit. It was installed on my Ruger Gunsite Scout and functions great on the bench. This model does not have incremental preset notches like the BRM unit and allows you to set the height between 6 and 9 inches with a twist of a knob. You can also lock the legs in the fully extended 9 inch position with one built-in notch on each leg. The legs are spring loaded and retract when unlocked. The bipod attaches to a standard sling swivel nut, however, it still allows you to attach a sling through a bipod mounting point. Since there is no top sway swivel joint, it's best suited for bench use. It's simple, light-weight and gets the job done. It is also made in the USA.

Perfect for bench rest or prone shooting. You'll love it!
Light weight, sturdy, doesn't move when aiming, very accurate for bench rest shooting.I wanted something to help with bench rest practice and scope sighting in. This is perfect for that. Attaches easily and ready to go in seconds. Very sturdy! I've tried the cheaper brands and they tend to flex a bit when you rest your cheek on the stock. This thing was solid and I was able to focus on shooting. If you're looking for something to use in the field for shooting at game or varmints I would look to one of their swivel units, but stick with the Harris brand for the quality you need. No need buying a cheaper one only to find out you wish you'd just bought the Harris to begin with. My sniper buddy only uses Harris and that was a good enough endorsement for me :)

Works great!
I mounted this bipod to a heavy rifle for stability. Have hunted with it and consistently provides the shot placement needed without concern for the weight of the firearm.

and are pretty solid. Build quality is very good with a ...
I'll start off with the fact that I am a huge fan of Harris Bipods, they fold up small, are lightweight, and are pretty solid. Build quality is very good with a mix of steel(hinges and sling swivel mount) and aluminum (legs). The only issue I have with them in general, including this model, is the fact that the legs are able to rotate. I personally prefer to push into a bipod to create a more solid shooting position and with these bipods this works fine in loose dirt/grass/gravel, but on harder surfaces such as concrete the rubber ends of the legs act as wheels and roll forward if you push. For the price they are great and I know there are more expensive options out there that address this issue.

Rugged Harris bipod!
Been using Harris bipods for 10 years without any issues. Very well made and durable. Easy and quickly adjustable to desired height. The S-25 model works well for people 5’6” to 6’4” in height. Bipod can be used for shooting from a prone position or extended to shoot from a seated position. Highly recommend.

Swivel is useless
95% of the time this is all the bipod u need. For the range it is the perfect bipod. Yea you can pay more and get a S swivel model.. but when will u ever use it? Short if the world ending or a zombie apocalypse or hunting. Though hunting a 6-9” bipod is useless unless prone. It is by far the best option and most who own the swivel just keep them locked. You can still easily swing ur barrel left or right the legs move easy enough u don’t even notice. Swivel is a upgrade u pay a premium for that no one uses.
