INIKA Petal Full Coverage Concealer, 0.12 OZ

This comes in an outer product box. The top is a gold color with black writing. The sides and bottom are black with gold and white writing. It is made in Italy. It has logos for vegan and cruelty free (see photos). The ingredients are listed on box (see photos).This comes in a beautiful jar! The bottom is frosted glass. It feels really nice. The top twists off and it is black metal. The jar has some weight to it.This claims to be a full coverage concealer. I got the shade “Petal.”When I first dipped my finger into the concealer, I thought it was dry feeling and was worried, but as soon as I moved my finger around a little, it felt nice and creamy, I guess the warmth from my fingers helped. After that, it always felt nice and creamy.There’s no real fragrance, but there is a faint smell. I can’t really explain it. It kind of has a smell of crayons or something? I can’t really place it. But, I don’t smell it when I apply it. Just when I actually stuck my nose up to the jar to see if it had a scent 😂It’s pretty thick and sticky. I dab my finger into the jar, then rub the product between my fingers to kind of warm it up, and then I dab it under my eyes. I really wanted to love this concealer because it had such great reviews, but for me, it feel way short. I honestly don’t understand how it has so many great reviews! I don’t mind thicker concealers, a lot of times when they are thicker, they’re creamier, which means more moisturizing, which I like. Usually, if you use them sparingly, you get good coverage because it’s thicker, and it doesn’t look cakey or dry because it’s creamy. Unfortunately, this concealer wasn’t like that at all. It was way too sticky, even if I tried warming it up between my fingers, it was still sticky. It also didn’t feel moisturizing at all. The only way it wouldn’t look cakey under my eyes was if I only used a very small amount, but doing that I got like zero coverage. And if I tried to build it up to get more coverage, it just looked like a sticky, cakey mess. I then tried to use it as a brightener along with other concealers, but since it’s so sticky, other concealers didn’t mix well with it...no matter what concealer I tried! I tried applying the concealer with my fingers, a damp beauty sponge, a dry beauty sponge, a brush...nothing helped. So, unfortunately this is just a no for me.I wouldn’t even recommend it to people who like just a little coverage because it just doesn’t look good under the eyes in my opinion.

I got this Inika concealer in the shade Petal. It was really hard to tell what actual color the shades were and the names didn't help much. Petal is very light. I would say it is for fair to light skin and has a slightly pink undertone. I have pale medium skin and I generally choose a concealer in light to brighten and cover my dark circles. Petal is about a shade lighter than I prefer.It is a hard concealer, not a soft cream. When I swipe my finger over the concealer, it does turn to a creamier consistency and it applies OK as long as I have moisturizer underneath otherwise it feels dry on my already very dry skin. Coverage is medium, not full, for me. If I apply more to get full coverage, it looks cakey. It does a decent job of brightening my eye area but it doesn't blend as well as my other concealers. I am used to cream and liquid concealers with a lot more dewiness.This would probably be great for those with oily or normal skin types but it isn't a favorite of mine because it is just too dry to work with. It does last a long time without fading, however. For the high price, I won't be purchasing this little .12 ounce tub of concealer when the one I have is gone but I think it would work much better on skin that doesn't need the hydration that mine does.

I ordered this product in petal color, as it seemed to be the lightest. It has a slightly pink tone to it. I have very fair and freckled skin. Even though beauty experts tell us to embrace our freckles, I prefer to hide mine. I have a very oily T-zone with dry patches elsewhere. I am in my early 70s. Because of this, I have a problem finding products that work well on both oily and dry skin. I do not need greasy products to make that situation worse, but every skin type needs hydration. This product worked out beautifully for me.Is this product safe?This product states that it is organic and vegan and that it is safe and healthy for even the most sensitive skin. My fair skin blotches easily, and I had no trouble with irritation from this product. I have been using it a few days now.What is the density of the product?This is a very firm solid-like product. All I did was swipe my fingertip over the top of the pot, and I had enough to cover the areas where I wanted coverage...mainly my nose, pores around nose, freckles on cheeks, a few pores on the chin area, and a little under my eyes.How does it blend?I used my finger tip to pat a little of this product on each area that I wanted to cover. Then I used a slightly damp beauty blender sponge to blend it. It spread easily with no greasy feeling.How is the coverage?This is definitely a full-coverage concealer that comes in a little glass pot. A little goes a long way. I am very impressed with the coverage.How is the finish?I applied primer before using this product. After applying this product, my foundation, and blush, I then set my makeup with a little translucent powder. After about 5 minutes, I took a clean brush to buff off any excess powder. The product left my skin with an amazingly luminous and flawless finish. I did not have any problem with the product "grabbing" my foundation or blush. I checked my makeup every couple hours on the days I used this product. There was no greasiness and no caking. Since I have oily skin, after about 4-5 hours I blot my T-zone with one of those little oil-absorbing tissues. I was not really looking oily at that point. It is just something that I have always done.Would I recommend this product?This is a luxury product. Even though it is a hydrating product, I use it on my oily T-zone. All skin needs hydration. This product is full coverage, and it worked great on my combination skin. Based on this, I would recommend it to anyone with either oily or dry skin. To me, this product exceeded my expectations. I think it deserves the full 5 stars.
