iCarsoft MBII for Mercedes Benz/Sprinter/Smart Professional Diagnostic Tool Scanner ABS,SRS ect

I have a modified 2006 Mercedes SL55 AMG R230 which I've taken apart many times, causing a number of stored DTCs in many modules. Hardest ones to get rid of were the SRS, EPS, along with a few others.I tried SEVERAL Code readers which supposedly would clear all of these, yet all 3 that I tried could not.... Until I purchased this one! The price for this is paid for by clearing any one of the the stored DTCs as the dealer charges $75- $225 just to diagnose! This will also do that very well. Also has several MB only toolsets that add to the value. NO, it's not a Star system where you can make programming changes or add keys etc. But if you want to clear codes, reset oil light, pinpoint which of the 100000 sensors is causing that german car gramlin of the day... then I think this is definitely for you. The first one that was sent to me was for a Porsche. Even though I ordered the MB II. I returned it and got another. The second was the correct one and it works great.

I wish there was a youtube video for absolute beginners. The connection part is ok until it comes to choosing model and some numbers like 906 or similar. Then the manual is useless and the help on the instrument as well. It's just more for pros. I wish it was simpler like plug and play .. It's not.The product arrived in good condition. No problem from the purchase side of things.

this scanner saved the day. I was able to pinpoint with ABS sensor was bad without having to deal with inspecting each one. this unit also cleared all the codes stored on my Sprinter. took the vehicle out of limp mode. That feature alone wis worth the investment, you do not want to by stuck away from home and have your van go into limp mode without a way to reset until you can fix the issue.overall, this is a must have for sprinter owners. slightly slow to scan and not totally straight forward when selecting your model to scan but, easy enough to figure out. comes with a nice case and good cable. I was able to easily update online.

This is probably a great tool for Mercedes....but it seems it has an issue with setting off rig test function on several vehicles (as I've read on many forums as I searched the problem I encountered with using it). It you use it on the function to clear lights for the abs system (as it said it could do ) it can not , it can tell you which wheel sensor is not working properly , but when you clear dtc codes in screen it will set the vehicle in a loop to disable , abs, esp, ebd, unavailable rig/test....and not turn off the abs warning light ......which involves doing a specific driving pattern to clear the rig test....which on some vehicles it is easy and works....on the gl450 the process seems to not work ...on mine at least....so it will involve a trip to the dealership to use the "star scan" unit to fix....which was the initial reason to get this tool to "avoid the dealership" and cost to begin with.....don't get me wrong ...it does work for other items very well it seemed ..but abs and esp stuff it does not have a cancel test function to find, and others have run into this same problem and voiced it on other reviews and tech sites I found ...some have not had this issue ....i guess year and model could determine this? ...ours is 2012....On a good note , Amazon has agreed to let us return it due to this issue , I'd rather it have worked properly and keep it for the good price it was, but if it keeps engaging a function that you can't recover from it is kinda useless.....hope this helps someone in the future to avoid it creating more of a problem than what you were trying to fix......

I ordered this scanner to read Mercedes Benz fault codes. Lower cost generic code scanners are not useful, so spending a bit more for one which is designed for the MB brand saves the aggravation and money/time wasted. I've used the scanner several times. That alone has paid for the scanner. Consider taking the car to a mechanic (with the right scanner) to diagnose your car versus owning a scanner. Clearly the cost of the mechanic's time/services will quickly exceed the cost of the scanner after just a couple of visits.Besides having used the scanner several times, I have also resolved several issues with the car, which have been identified by the scanner. otherwiseIn terms of using this scanner, it does take a little getting used to. Especially in this day and age of touch screen, using the navigation/confirmation/cancel buttons is a step back in time, but a few uses will have you accustomed to that. Having a bit of knowledge about cars in general will help get used to the scanner a little quicker. If you have knowledge about the MB brand's cars and their systems/components, it will be easier, but it's not required.A scanner is a must have for the home mechanic. Whether it's this one or another good alternative, that's your choice. I find this one helps me with the diagnostics and that's what I want. This scanner will not do adaptations, if you're looking for one to help you with adapations, you'll have to look for another one.

I have used it couple of times and it worked really well for the model I had. Will give more feedback when I use it on my Sprinter!

does not work with the mercedes metris van hopefully a firmware will come out that supports it. Worked good with GLK diesel model. Item paid for its self in one code clear vs going to dealership at 180 per visit

the service is hopeless however. and will only connect to MS. pcnot Mac.as for as function its okay... not as good and my professional units. and you have to select the entire set up every time you use it. must have zero memory as to what vehicles you have already sent up!plus not so intuitive and cumbersome to use.Star finder is much better. also much more money
