Quality product
A good cast iron tea pot. It started to rust on the inside almost immediately when placed on top of the wood stove, with a little rust under the lid developing after about a month's use; but considering it's use, that is no problem. Remove the rust with a green scratch-pad, you don't have to use soap, and you're back in business. It's not made for drinking water. It's a heavy pot and should last for several years. I recommend this product.

Handle bends and falls off while pouring
The wire handle is too weak to hold the teapot. When you try to fully empty the teapot the handle bends and the teapot crashes to the table.

Solid cast iron kettle!
This kettle is used primarily for creating humidity on a wood-burning stove. I debated whether or not it could serve as a cast iron tea kettle on my gas stove. I've loved cast iron cookware for generations and am a committed hot tea drinker. In looking at expensive cast iron tea kettles, I decided I had nothing to lose trying this one even though it wasn't really advertised as a tea kettle. The cost is extremely reasonable.True to form, it's a cast iron tea kettle! It works beautifully on my gas stove and gives my tea a mellower, sweeter taste. It is very heavy and somewhat cumbersome to pour, but I'm exceedingly happy with its quality. For those concerned about rust in a cast iron kettle (not an enamel-lined teapot which is not for heating water), pour all water out of the kettle after you fill your teapot. The sustained heat of the kettle itself with cause any remaining moisture to evaporate. Don’t forget to leave the lid open to assist in the evaporation! I have not had one scintilla of rust in my kettle. I couldn't be happier.

Junk
Looks nice on wood stove other than that it is junk.First one had a leak in the bottom. Returned it with no problem.Just got another one sent to me. Lid has paint missing, inside has a chunk of something that probably was used to repair leak and the water is rusty on first use.

Great!
Product is exactly as I wished! Ordered it to hold water on top of the wood burning fireplace to add moisture to the air and it works perfectly. Yes, it does rust, but I wanted the nostalgic look as the wood burning fireplace is the old style! Would not buy it for a teapot to boil water to drink out of without treating it somehow, but works perfect for my use.

Rusty
This serves the purpose of getting moisture into the air but the inside rusted immediately. I do like that the handle is not usually too hot to pick up unless the stove is really going and that the outside hasn't rusted except where the lid is. It's also pretty heavy when filled with water so I find it's easier to leave on the stove and fill it with a pitcher. The handle seems kind of stressed when it's really full. It's a decent product and does what is needed, but it's not pretty.

Doing its job
I got this kettle for the size and other reviews. I would have rated a five but I am getting some rust in the pot. I expected to have it there, but a pre seasoned kettle would make one think it possible not to have any. I really do like it. It provides moisture in the air when I have my stove burning which is the reason I got it. Every other kettle I have had also had rust build up so I don't feel bad about the fact that this one does also. I recommend it to anybody looking for a kettle.

Does it's job. Good value.
If you're going to use this product on a wood stove and expect it to actually heat up to steam, make sure you have a stand alone wood stove. I bought this for my wood stove insert, and it's top platform does not produce enough heat to rapidly humidify the air, which was my objective. That said, it's not the fault of the kettle. For the price, I got what I expected- a nice cast iron tea kettle. Looks good on the stove.
