Excellent sound, excellent headset
I've had this unit for a week. I use it for calls that sometimes last as long as 2 hours. I use it primarily for the headset. Pros: 1. Headband is comfortable on head. 2. Battery life is good. I did 4 hours of calls in 1 day and headset battery was still going strong. 3. Sound quality of headset is excellent in both directions. Several people have asked me "Did you get a new headset? Your calls sound much better." 4, Headset has a mute button. 5. I haven't tried a full distance test, but it works throughout the house. Cons: 1. It is difficult to "feel" the mute button on the headset. After a while you learn where it is, but it would have been nice if they had put some tactile feedback on the mute button. The headset does feel a bit on the loose side to me, but I've found a position that keeps it secure enough so that I can do my exercises without it falling off, so I don't view this as a real "con". If you're looking for an inexpensive headset, I recommend this unit. Update#1: I had a chance to do a simple range test with the headset. I walked out the front door to the foot of the driveway. I then proceeded down the block. I made it just beyond my neighbor's house before the signal started to cut in and out. The headset will function properly at distances that exceed what is needed to cover one's home and back yard. Update#2: August 20, 2011. I've had the phone for 3 months and I have not had any problems. I use the headset many hours/week and it continues to function well. Update#4: May 19, 2012. I've had this system for a year now; both handsets and the headset continue to work well. Update#5: August 9, 2013. I've had this system for 2.25 years. The battery LED always shows red no matter how long I charge it, although it will still last 2+ hours before it dies. I have to take responsibility for this problem, as I allowed the headset battery to "run down" to empty multiple times. Most recently the battery was left dead for 10 days before I found the headset and put it back on the charger. I consider myself fortunate that it will still accept a charge at all.

Excellent Sound, Great Headset, Sleek System
My Background: Business Analyst who work from home and stay on phone for at least 4-5 hours every day, 5 days a week, keep aside family talk time during weekends ;-) Headset: It will fit in perfectly only if you use over the head support as I agree with other comments that ear bud doesn't fit well and headset will fall off. But if you use over the head and over the ear clips that comes with the package, you would do just great. In fact I wear this headset over the ear mic connected to my digital pen and it records all the voice clearly and I can hear the conversation at a same time. This little daily experiment proves that this headset is the best choice for listening, making and recording conversations all in once :-) Handset: Very sleek and easy to hold on to. I am not a big fan of holding the phone to my ears but I wouldn't mind for an hour or so if given this handset. Headset also has PTT feature, click of which would connect to your second handset through wireless. Now your voice would be heard through speaker on the other side without the option of accepting or rejecting to hear the pager sound. Good or bad, I will leave to people's discretion. Phone Holder: Again sleek looking with headset and handset charger, looks very neat, has play, delete and stop button with circular display but again adds towards its sleeker look. There is a feature where you can turn on the answering machine which basically put the voice on the speaker while person is leaving the message in real time. Doesn't take lot of surface area. There a headset finder button, on press of which as most of you would know will send a finder ring tone to your lookout handset. Conclusion: Must buy, I have been looking for a perfect phone and I guess I found it. Rely on me because I rely on my experience ;-)

This is a very good phone
This one is very good crystal clear sound, longer range, longer battery life phone. It's one of the best phone I have ever used. Their headset battery lasts for ever. Handset and headset are slim and impressive. It looks good in your hand. They both looks durable. Keys are easy to press. I thought I got the best. but no, wait its coming. Headphone steayed over the ear nicely. Addressbook was pretty easy to use. Press the up arrow button and it works very good. Easy to understand all features. The headset was as good as or even better than the one that I use in my office Plantronics which is $ 300. The only reason why I am returning the whole unit is because the rubber prongs which holds earpiece and headset together are fragile and it one piece broke within a week of light and gentle use. I bought this phone because of the headset. Otherwise, I already have a 5.8 ghz Panasonic cordless phone works even after 7 years. Which is very reliable but no headset capability. Well on this unit voice activated caller id is very hard to make out the names. The pronounciations are not good. Which is expected and I dont care much. I definitely buy one in future if they improve the headset quality, (sorry, I take it back, headset is very good, Prongs on headset are not durable) It breaks without any wear and tear. It feels like made out of butter and melts. I wish someone at vtech reads this review and realize how they mashed up their good quality head-phone just by not paying enough attention to minor detail. I mean really vtech created a masterpiece and just put a small cheap part which mashed up the whole system. Other than that, if you dont care about the headset I suggest you this phone. It works from one sixth of a mile range/radius.

It WILL Fall Out of Your Ear and the Clip WILL Break
BACKGROUND: I'm quite informed in the cordless phone industry. I ALWAYS, even now, recommend Panasonic for a few reasons: a) they're actually still updating and improving the phones, doing things such as adding Bluetooth, allowing one handset to power the base in case of a power outage, etc., b) they stand up better than any AT&T or V-Tech, and c) they use standard AAA rechargeable batteries instead of the hard-to-find battery packs. So why did I buy this V-Tech? Well, Panasonic DOES make a base that will wireless connect to a bluetooth headset. I would recommend that over one of these V-Techs. But the problem is that I bought that Panasonic a couple years ago for my mother and she couldn't grasp that the Bluetooth headset needs to be charged, can be turned on and off, needs to be connected to the base, etc. So, a few years and several dozen drops later, it was time for a new phone. Since V-Tech is the only one that makes one with the headset, I pulled the trigger. And that was a mistake! THIS V-TECH: The handsets are not built as well as the Panasonics. They don't stand up and the speakerphone is not a good. Then, there are two huge problems with the earpiece/headset: One, it comes with several different methods to attach it to your head or ear. However, NONE of them work and it will fall out. I promise it will fall off of your head/ear. It's not like a headset intended for cell phones; it's very poorly engineered. I'm shocked they released it as is, actually. Second, the method of attaching the ear clips or headclips to the headset unit is the weakest, most poorly thought-out method you can imagine. As I was attaching the various ear/head clips to see which would fit the best (none of them fit well), I was worried that I would break as I was carefully attaching them. I left my mom free to use it. I talked to her on it and she kept complaining how it wouldn't stay in her ear (as I already knew). Then, about a week later it fell out of her ear when she was cooking and one of the little prongs of that little clip that looks like it would break, broke. So, broken clip. It was 35 days since purchase so I couldn't return it to Amazon. I told her to write to V-Tech (although a replacement wouldn't really help...and since she's already used the handsets for a while now I can't really resell them as mint on Ebay). I don't know what we're going to do with the headset unit. Maybe I can glue on some type of ear clip. But, I'd also need a better ear-bud because these do not go in your ears like normal cell phone bluetooth headsets.

Good product, Excellent service
I have long calls almost daily and needed a handsfree phone with advantages of landline. I got this phone mainly for the headset. Worked perfectly right from day one with almost no noise and great range. As noted by other customers here the headset adapter is of poor quality and broke within the first month.. I tried fixing that with glue but that just made me more sad. I thought I might give a try to contact the customer care since it was still under warranty with not much expectations. To my surprise they responded and asked me to ship the defective piece back. I was a bit skeptical about them just fixing the old one. I sent them the defective one with my address. They shipped a new one immediately but to a wrong zip code. When I pointed out that the customer service was quick to respond and send me a whole new headset with the stand at my correct address. Overall very satisfied with the product and the customer service

excellent voice quality
The headset is its biggest flaw! The phone and headset have a long battery life, excellent voice quality, the sound is clear, it's easy to use, and just looks cool. The integrated headset system is a pleasure to use. Sound quality of headset is excellent in both directions. Headset has a much better range than a Bluetooth headset. However, I bought this phone solely for the cordless headset. As it turns out, that is its biggest flaw. TRUST THE REVIEWERS WHO WARN YOU ABOUT THE HEADSET. It is poorly designed cheap plastic in the clip becomes impossible to use and though is has not broken, it will not stay connected and any attempt to repair the clip to remedy the problem will render useless the flexibility of use for both ears! Great phone, but if you're buying this for the hands-free headset, you've been warned. Update: 9/8/14 The headset clip finally broke. Received comments from V-Tech explaining that there is a one year limited warranty and given a number to call. What a joke. There is no way to speak to anyone just the usual frustrating computer that only responds to options it presents and if they don't match your needs -- too bad. I'm not going to send the whole unit back and not have a phone while V-Tech reviews the claim and then responds, if only the headset is the issue. Even left a number to receive a call back - I'm getting more grey waiting. Cheap plastic parts, poor customer service - again you have been warned

Love the phones, slightly awkward headset....overall great!
I have had vteck phones for a very long time and our old ones eventually stopped working as well as they should, so I bought this because of the reviews and because they had a headset. I am dissapointed that this is one one the only vteck phones that really offers the headset option and the others do not have jacks for headsets on the phones anymore. But that is alright. I love that the phones have an equalizer feature. I have not learned how to use all of the gadgets on the phone, but the sound quality is very good, and I like the speaker phone option as well because you can actually hear the other person clearly. If you use the full over the head option for the headset, it is difficult to get it to sit right on the charger as the headset is too heavy and can topple if not situated correctly. Overall the phones work very well, so I am happy with this model.

Nice Unit
Our old DECT phone was wearing out, and we wanted something where we would have a headset, for conference calls, and other longer duration calls. This fit the bill. Had been shopping for a single unit, but to get one with a headset, I was going to have to spend as much as I did for this unit on the special sale here on Amazon. So, as a bonus we got the answering machine and a second phone, that we put in the guest bedroom. The HD audio is great, the handheld units are light and small, but buttons big enough for me and my big hands. Wasn't able to use the ear loop attachment for the headset, but the over the head loop works just fine. Was a bit concerned about the wireless headset, but the audio quality there is great too...and you don't have carry the phone around with you, like with my old corded headset. All in all, a great step up for us in technology, and an awesome super sale price from Amazon !!!

Totally wasted money
Product is not working and not even charging at all, I would suggest you all to please go for the offline market for such products. Also when we orderd the product they delivered them seperately and now we are facing trouble in returning of that one part
