Worth the cost for the effort saved.
I had previously built a Retropie system on a Raspberry Pi 3, but know from years of maintaining emulator setups that the headaches of gathering all of the pieces that into one place to make them useful would take hours and hours and hours and hours. My own experience was no exception, so when I decided to build a Raspberry Pi 4 based Retropie for my home theater system, I decided to bite the bullet and just pay someone else to do that work, which is what this image represents. If you're not already familiar with retropie, do know that it's famously hard to configure and thinly documented for somebody who might not be fairly technical. So, frustration with the setup on this card is no different than a lot of the frustration you might have if you were trying to set it up yourself. That being said, as long as you get the controller setup right, most of this is going to work right out of the box, with a minimum of effort. The card does include some basic instructions for getting up and running, which is well appreciated, and they will surely get you within Google distance, if not all the way, with being able to play all of the games.I will also add that it's probably very worthwhile to get some controllers specifically designed for the systems you play the most, or close to them, because using, for example, an old Xbox 360 controller is not going to be a satisfying experience when playing the Super Mario 3. If you don't have such controller is, you might look at some of the other kits available on Amazon that include everything, including controllers. The total cost all together may make more sense than buying it a piece at a time.

Great product that's well worth the price.
Very happy with this purchase. The Daphne games (3 of them) will freeze the pi4 and nothing brings it out of it and that's kinda disappointing. Most of the console games work great. I mostly play sega master system, genesis, Atari 2600(this sd card has more Atari games than I ever imagined existed! The Mame games are pretty good but sometimes odd. Many don't work but there are multiple versions of some popular ones and at least one version will work. The creator of this raspberry pi 4 image has made a wonderful product that has saved me lots of time and effort. I definitely would recommend it to friends.

Great collection, a little assembly needed
This is an outstanding collection of games for the Raspberry Pi computer. Every game possible for every 80s to 90s gaming system is loaded. Even many PC games are included using DOS box.. In order to comply with the law, please make sure you own a copy of the games played. Now the bad. While many games run first try, many require tweaking if using a TV as an HDMI monitor. There are also many "junk" files like multiple versions of the same game or in the case of the TRS-80 Color computer, audio analyzer that requires physical connection to the original computer. If you purchased a Raspberry Pi, you're not afraid of new things and small tech challenges. This is a great collection that saves a lot of work well worth the money.I highly recommend a USB game pad or joystick be purchased if needed along with this card. Most games require it.

Great for plug n play
If you don't know what you're doing and just want to do an Arcade1up plug n play mod, this is a great image to start with. (or if you just want to hook up a Rpi4 to your tv)This is perfect to play with while you gather knowledge and practice for better builds in the future. The default emulator works for most games. If you come across a game that won't launch, don't fret. You can change the emulator for each individual rom. With that being said, some games still won't work, but there are thousands of games and many have different versions. You are bound to get one of them to work. The front-end is easy to navigate, broken down by console systems. Just wheel through the systems until you get to which one you want, go into that system and venture through the games. There are tons of games for all ages.Be sure to create a disk image for back-up before booting up. There are tons of tutorials on how to do it on youtube and this SD card comes with a sheet of instructions that tell you where to go for info.Would I buy this product again? No. I have learned what I needed to surpass this item.Am I glad I bought it? Yes. It was a great stepping stone that really helped me figure stuff out and entertained me along the way.I'm guessing if you're looking at this product, you are new to Retro-pie. By all means, don't second guess purchasing this. It is worth it. Even if you never want to learn more or upgrade later, this has hours upon hours of entertainment that can keep you happy for years.AGAIN.... CREATE A SYSTEM IMAGE FOR BACK-UP BEFORE USING THIS!

Superb selection of games for the money
Retropie is an excellent vehicle for vintage games. This version works well out of the box. The selection of games is superb from my point of view. I played many of these when my daughters were in their teen, and they are just as good as I remember. I certain that a master gamer might be disappointed by an omitted game, but I did not have that experience. I found the preloaded card to be an outstanding value.
