Helps with recurve slap
These work well to help decrease recurve bow string slap. They don't completely stop it but do help significantly, add a set of beaver balls, cat whiskers, or standing wolf wool or alpaca string silencers. Between the two of these I find my recurve, my daughter's recurve, and several other quieted down to near silence.

Keeps your string strung.
I bought this for my recurve bow. I have not tried these on a compound bow. For silencing, it may depend on what is causing the noise, and how much you are trying to eliminate. The main thing these buttons do is help protect the string from tree limbs and other brush that might catch on the string. It works for that. I live in an area with lots of stray limbs and fast growing vines that like to reach out and tangle things up. They seem to especially like me. These help me avoid a lot of frustration. If you are target practicing in cleared areas, you may not need this at all. If you are just trying to make the bow quieter, this may help, but there are other ways to accomplish that. If you are clumsy in the forest, this can help.

Great product
These are great. I bought an old bow that had some on the string that were worn out. These work just as well if not better. Definitely recommend

Hard Plastic
I bought Some of These 40 Years Ago. They Were Dense Rubber. These are Hard Plastic. Really Hard to Get String Threw, but I Made it. Just Hope, They Stay Put. Time Well Tell. =-O

Hard buttons makes for a VERY noisy bow
I bought these as replacements for the rubber brush buttons on my Kodiak Magnum. I shoot quite a bit and go through brush buttons quicker than most. I was hoping the compound of these might last a bit longer than rubber buttons while still keeping leaves/twigs out of my limb tips and quieting the bow. These brush buttons are loud. I mean VERY LOUD. The material is entirely too hard for their intended purposes. They make a loud "klack" noise on a tuned bow/arrow combo that is typically super quiet. I will not purchase this item again. It's back to rubber for me.

I've used brush buttons for as long as I can ...
I've used brush buttons for as long as I can remember. Don't know what I'd do without them. Just got a new recurve and had to get new brush buttons.

Excellent product
These brush buttons do exactly what they were designed to do. Keep brush from snagging between the tip of the bow and the bowstring. Plus they help to dampen string noise. Easy to put on too.
