Sounds great paired with a 250 watt alpine monoblock class d amp, only drawback is the size. This thing takes up about half of my 2011 dodge charger's trunk space.

94dB sensitivity=amazing efficiency!
I purchased the Infinity 1220se to efficiently use the 300W coming from my new Rockford Fosgate PBR300X1. I had been using an old 12" Sony Xplod I had purchased in the mid 2000's. The Infinity is rated at 94 dB of sensitivity compared to the Sony's 87 dB so I hoped I there would be an audible increase in sound output. Knowing that the dB scale is logarithmic every 3 dB increase in sensitivity is the same as doubling the power of the amplifier so going from 87dB to 94 dB should make my amp sound like a 1200W amplifier. I took this with a grain of salt knowing that manufacturers measure specifications a little differently and use tricks to "puff up" their numbers.I received my Infinity 1220se and couldn't believe the size of the shipping box and immediately thought, "This is ridiculously huge and is going right back to Amazon!" I struggled to remove the 50# behemoth from its sturdy shipping box and quickly squeezed it in the modestly sized trunk of my 2014 Volvo S60 to hook it up. What I heard next was ASTOUNDING!! The Sony struggled to fill my car with bass while the Infinity easily filled my ENTIRE GARAGE with deep, rich, soul stirring bass. The garage door rattled and my dog ran for cover. My friends and I still can't believe that all this bass is created from only 300W. A friend hooked it up to his subwoofer amplifier with the same improvement in sound output and quality. To top it off, despite being ported, it still has tight, accurate bass. Needless to say I'm keeping my new subwoofer!

Owned and used for about two months
Bought with the 300 watt infinity amplifier. This thing is pretty beastly. It's not competition worthy but I crank it at an almost deafening level along with the rest of my infinity equipment and let me tell you, this thing is pretty powerful. I paid $2200 for 2 component speakers 2 coaxial speakers a pioneer 600 watt amplifier, infinity 300 watt rms amp, capacitor and install including the big three upgrade, dynomat on the trunk, rear behind the seats (where the rear coaxial speakers go) and the two front doors and finally a mounting wall for the inside of my trunk to mount the amps and capacitor. for the price. it's as good as it gets when you want a crisp sound system (with the windows rolled up, or down cruising through the parking lot if that's your thing) but you dont need the world to hear it.edit: had this unit for about 7 months now and will say that I haven't had any problems with my setup.edit: 7/04/2014 Still kicking strong, I'm looking at the clarion's equalizer so I can focus the sound clarity.

Great Speakers
I purchase this sub along with the recommended 300 watt amp from Infinity. They go together perfectly and put out some serious bass. This sub rattles the windows and mirror like crazy. Lets just say this thing is so loud that when I have it cranked up it will people can hear it from a good distance away. I did have a problem with the sub itself when I first installed it. The voice coil seemed to burn out so I contacted the seller (CarAudioDeals) for an exchange. They were great to work with and I the not only swapped out the speaker but they sent me a newer/better model replacement sub. Love the sub and the vendor was great. Will order all future car audio from them.

Best Subwoofer I have ever owned
I used to have the same subs (2 Infinity Reference 1252w's) in a sealed box matched up to the Infinity Reference 1300a. The power and sound that came from 2, doesn't begin to compare to what I am getting out of the 1220se... with the same amp. I couldn't be happier with my purchase, more the enough boom, half the weight of having 2, more room and it looks much better than the plain custom box I used to have. I just have to connect the LEDs to complete the install.

Very nice, clean base.
I put this sub in a $2500 set up with Focal Krx2's and everything sounds great. The base is tight, and clean. It even hangs well with the hip hop tunes, and rattles the car pretty good. The girlfriend likes how it looks too. Highly recommend if you are looking for quality base at a good price.
