Takes A Little Practice But Not Too Difficult
The media could not be loaded. I was looking for something to sharpen my secateurs, as the sharpening stone I had, was too big to use without dismantling them.I saw this little device and to be fair, I was highly dubious that would work.I have spent a lot of time soaking stones and sharpening shears etc.Read some reviews and thought I would give it a try,I was so wrong.I gave it a test to get the hang of it, on some ancient shears I use for cutting the odd bit of grass. A few stripes with this and they sharpened up amazingly.Counterintuitively, it it the edge of the mirrored side, that does the sharpening and the grooved side that does the fine honing.I have sharpened two pairs of shears a pair of scissors and 4 pairs of secateurs with it. They came out very well.I am going to try it on my lawnmower next, as because of its compact size. I should be able to do this, without removing the blade from the mower.Be careful to make sure you have the correct angle when sharpening anything (follow the one the tool manufacturer put there as closely as you can) as this little tool, is surprisingly effective. You do not need to use a lot of pressure when using.Get the correct angle and two or three stripes along the blade might well be enough.I have tried to upload a video, giving a rough guide on how to use it and also and explanation of some issues, that seemed to be causing a problem, for some users, regarding the cap either not fitting or being too tight. In the video I hold the secateurs with the point towards me, so people can see what I am doing more clearly.Where possible, point sharp tools away from yourself (shears, scissors, knives etc).Safety should be your first concern when sharpening.Another tip, is to try this sharpening tool on an old pair of secateurs or scissors, till you get the hang of keeping the angle that was put there during manufacturing.Start with slow light strokes and gradually increase to medium pressure, when you are more confident in your technique. It is not very difficult but there is a slight knack to it.If you get a little ridge on the back of the blade after sharpening (known as a burr) you can place the honing side of the sharpening tool flat against the back of the blade and one swipe should remove it.Look up YouTube for removing burrs from tools, if you are not really sure what they are.

Works Fine, Useless Lid
Can't remember what I paid, but it was probably OK value. It works fine and I've been using it regularly to sharpen my secateurs (instead of letting them get really blunt and annoying), a pair of scissors I keep for the garden and even my lopper blades, but they really need the big g.ns, like the larger blades. The irritation snuck in early, because the lid does not fit properly over the sharpener (if I get someone to come to the aid of me and my wee hands, it'll be rammed on and then I can't get the darned thing back off) and, therefore, I can't clip it onto a pocket or belt loop. It ends up in the trug I schlep around with all the tools I'm using, plus a few (or a lot of) weeds along the way and then I have to rummage around to find it ... and its lid. In theory (and according to the YouTuber I was watching when I decided to order it) this is a great wee device, but needs some tweaking so that it doesn't end up, accidentally, lost somewhere in the garden, like quite a few trowels, hand forks and secateurs that have disappeared over the years. Just a smidgeon of precision engineering is still required to make this product indispensable.

Easy to use
This tool is indispensable to me as I sew every day and sharp scissors are a must have. All scissors are now razor sharp, helps with hand fatigue and arthritis pain. Blunt scissors cause accidents and blisters! Not tried it on kitchen knives yet. Saves me money, no need to go to hardware shop to get scissors sharpened.

Brilliant little bit of kit
Only took delivery yesterday however I have sharpened 2 pairs of scissors, secateurs and a pair of very blunt and damaged loppers, Each are now super sharp and doing what they do best. The loppers had several ripples from heavy use this tiny little sharpener has made light work in cleaning the edge up making them more than usable again.I would highly recommend this.

Every Gardener buy this
It is the best practical sharpener. I have tried various grads of sandpaper, and looked at the costly diamond wet/dry stones(rectangular shape). Its size makes it so easy to control. My old hand pruners went from blunt to sharp with just 3 swipes of the sharpening face and 2 swipes with the honing(burr) face.

Much better than larger whetstone sets
Bought this on a whim as it was cheap, it’s infinitely better than the set of whetstones I bought from Amazon that cost more than double.I’ve used it to sharpen and hone my Denby kitchen knife set as well as the old set it replaced as I could never get a decent edge on them.Combine it with a leather strop and you’ll get almost razor sharp smooth edges. It’s also great for putting an edge back onto garden shears etc. really impressed with this little pocket-sized sharpener.
