Safety 1st Gentle Read Rectal Thermometer

I use this thermometer daily. At first I loved it, it was so fast and seemed accurate. Then one day it was sitting on my sons changing table near a sunny window. When I took my sons temp it said he had a raging fever. I had another digital thermometer that I took his temp with and he was fine. Since that day the readings have been all over the board. I know this thing was not exposed to raging heat as this was April in Colorado.I definetly need a thermometer I can trust and one that is not so easily effected by the outside elements!

This is a great thermometer. It's easy to insert and it's a fast read. I wouldn't say instant, but it does read within a few seconds, before the baby gets uncomfortable with the position.

I bought this thermometer about 6 months ago and loved it, but lost it so needed to purchase another. The second time I used the replacement, it stopped working and would only read 190F +. I returned it and bought another one hoping that it was just a fluke since I have liked my original so much, but the this one wouldn't even turn on. Am returning it for a refund and will try to find a different brand.

I can't believe this got bad reviews! It works extremely fast and I love that you don't have to guess how far to insert it. I would definitely recommend it.

To add to the other review about how terrible this product is...It would seem obvious that you would wipe a rectal thermometer off after use with alcohol right? The alcohol ate into the readout screen and I can't see through it any more.I'm on the hunt for a new one.

I hate this thermometer, it never beeps no matter how long you wait for it. It also takes forever to read which makes using it on my wiggling baby useless. I'll be investing in a infrared thermoscan in the near future.
