Cool little hatchet
Great little hatchet, came duller than a shoebox but that was no problem. I would buy again.

Perfect size
I have yet to use the Axe on anything but it seems very sturdy and made of good quality. I liked that it has a protective cover that is easy to take on and off with a clip to hang it from your pants if need be.

NOT STAINLESS STEEL
The asian countries have re-invented their own stainless steel with high carbon content alloy. The problem is these alloys corrode. a true stainless steel does not hold a magnet very well if at all. Even 8-18 SS is magnetic but has a very low carbon content that weakly holds a magnet and does not corrode easily. I tried the hatchet and it does what it should. The edge retention is ok and it sharpens well. I needed a lightweight backpack hatchet so this will fill the bill. I will recycle the pos plastic sheath and use my 30yo gerber or fiskers sheath. My first extended hike will be in CO. 1st week of May. I'll see how it works. You would be surprised what could go wrong with simple things in the woods. I'll add more info in May.05/11/24 Back from Colorado. Hatchet preformed well. I purchased an Eastwing #17 sheath which fit well and was much better than the plastic one supplied with the axe. No issues with the blade chipping or cracking. I bring 2 to 6 inch diameter branches into camp. Chop partially into campfire size length and break them in a Y trunk tree. No problems on the plane or on my belt. A small hatchet like this is always uncomfortable to use but for backpacking that is the game. This hatchet is light and strong and it will be my backpacking axe until death. mine or the hatchet.

Lexivon- Competitive and affordable!
First I’d like to mention that this is the first axe I’ve ever purchased. I’ve usually used my dads in the past but it was time to get my own. I purchased the 28-inch chopping axe. My main use for this has been splitting logs in my backyard so I can have fires in my fire pit over the summer. I will say that this axe has exceeded my expectations. It slices through and split seasoned/dry wood beautifully. If the wood isn’t fully seasoned/dry you might have to give it a few good hacks but it will eventually go. I’ve even hit the handle on accident a few times right below the axe head and I haven’t noticed any cracks or damage because of it. The feel of this axe is great in the hands and the rubber grip is comfortable. I really like the fiberglass composite handle it seems very sturdy and has taken a few accidental blows. The weight feels perfect, not too heavy and not too light. After you give the head a nice little sharpen it just eats through wood with a powerful swing. I’d definitely recommend sharpening it before using it the first time, it doesn’t come very sharp from the factory. It even comes with a handy head safety protector that has a handle on it. I paid around 31 dollars for this axe with a discount on Amazon and I will say this is a solid and affordable piece that is competitive with a Fiskars axe that costs 15-20 dollars more. Great value for money so far! I expect this to last many more summers. An avid and extremely experienced wood chopper/splitter may notice some differences/ have some gripes but I’d assume this will work and perform perfectly fine for most people.

Good product, but costumer service saved the sell
I read plenty of reviews about this axe and wanted to get something for our newly built firepit outside. I decided to get it, mainly based on price. When it came, the box looked pretty beat up which is never a good sign. I opened the box, and sure enough, the plastic locking mechanism was broken. The axe fell out of the holder when I pulled it out of the box. I still have 10 toes! There was dirt on the blade and scratches along the handle. It wouldn't take a Sherlock to discover this had been previously used. I wrote to customer service about the situation. They responded in less than 12 hours! They just needed my address to send a replacement. The new one came a few days later with a return label in the box for the original axe. Customer service was extremely nice, helpful, and PROMPT! I would EASILY buy from this company again when I'm ready to purchase a hatchet or other axe. Fantastic to work with. Now to the product. I have used this 2-3x a week since receiving it. Splits like a champ! I even split wood after three days of storms. No problem. The design of a splitting axe makes it almost too easy to swing around and split the log first try. The only problem I run into is when there is a knot in the wood. The axe feels good in my hands, swings easily, and does the job. The handle is hollow inside, which I understand might deter some people especially seeing it's plastic of some kind, but I haven't had the misfortune of swinging and hitting handle instead of blade. So as long as you have decent aim, you shouldn't have problems like others of breaking the handle. Overall, very happy with the results so far after a month of splitting.

The Perfect Splitting Axe
In the past, I have always used a traditional maul and wedge type of method to split logs into firewood. The labor was satisfying ...but it was backbreaking enough to make you want to do it in small batches.I took down a couple of large oaks several months ago and was considering getting a pneumatic splitter, but was not certain whether it could handle odd length logs or the 12-to-18 inch widths. I found the Lexivon and decided to try out the 28 inch model. What a difference it was with the new axe -- I honestly never realized there was such a specific splitting axe at such a reasonable price. The axe is very lightweight and the most perfectly balanced tool in the shed. It is sufficiently sharp for the job and appears as stout at the end of the job as it was when new.My son (adult) and I split and stacked a little more than a half cord of logs into firewood in an afternoon using the new axe and a sledge hammer. The axe split through the wood almost effortlessly (compared to using the maul and wedges). When we came upon a tough spot or a knot in the wood, the axe became a wedge and our sledge knocked it through with a few whacks. All in all, this is one of the best investments of the year for me.

Looks like quality and light weight
Good for camping, found the wide angle of the axe head works awesome on the camping wood you get at the provincial park

Ordinato l'ascia, la spedizione è stata velocissima mi è arrivata il giorno dopo. Favolosa, l'ho usata per abbattere gli alberi nei boschi, e funziona bene. Ottimo acquisto, la consiglio.
