The SAGE Dictionary of Cultural Studies

A great source to make sense about the concepts shared with other disciplines and how cultural studies change their meanings.

Having studied as both an undergraduate and a post-graduate at one of our more renowned universities, I found myself floundering with cultural studies and critical theory at the beginning of a PhD. This book provides concise, accessible, interesting and, best of all, useful introductions to a good range of movements, fields, and theories. I use it in conjunction with the Penguin Dictionary of Critical Theory - in general, I find that the combination provides me with a good enough introduction to a topic to decide whether or not a particular idea might be worth further study in relation to my research interests.
