Few of the most beautifully written book.Easy language. 100% genuine product. It will really make u believe that past is not what we think it was ..it also really riases the question of Darwin's theory.I used to read mythology books like kalyan, made me wonder if really those incidents happened... Now i strongly started believing the ancient times was way much stronger... Technologically experts and were the insanely smart beings ..Out of 719 Total 534 pages of huge information. Whispers of an ancient civilisation
For the human race of ours that have achieved so much in the frontiers of science and technology, where we consider religion and mythology nothing more than fragments of imagination, let us consider the reverse scenario that Hancock reached only his final chapter:What would really happen if we come to know, that our planet Earth is going to be destroyed in a great flood or deluge few years from now, say in 2013? Either by huge tsunamis of 400 feet high triggered by some meteoric collision, or huge volcanic eruptions under the sea, or by any other reason, if the world is to be devoid of all life forms, all our technological achievement of last 5000 years or so erased from the planet’s face, forcing a very few of survivors to be thrown back to become hunter gatherers at the very beginning of another Stone Age?There actually are few things which the mankind, based on the available technological advancement of the day, can do, if such a thing comes. Firstly, all our learnings and messages which we think are important, can be written down on stone tablets or similar things. However, we can never be sure if the future generations thousands of years henceforth, will be able to decode the language in which it is written, even if these artifacts do sustain the wrath of time. We can for example, make some monuments, or at least prepare the planning for such monuments, which will somehow embed the date 2013 in its architecture and planning, so that some future generation in say 15000AD will know some intelligent race once lived on this planet and for them the year 2013 was an important date. Few of our talented survivors may traverse the seas to wherever possible and take upon themselves to educate others on the finer aspects : geography, astronomy, building science, mathematics, and so on. This new knowledge in the diverse cradles of humanity can be entrusted to selected groups of local people to carry forward the knowledge in a manner of cult-following. We can try to embed the important facts and figures into folklores and mythology- how else can you explain Einstein’s theory of relativity to the unborn-and hope that curiosity will be aroused in some intelligent people may be thousands years from now, and will be challenged to ask questions on the hidden meanings of our artifacts, on our monuments left standing, and on our mythological stories.. but this surely will remain only as a hope..Graham Hancock, in his book Fingerprints of the Gods, challenges the reader to ask questions on the left out remnants of the distant past- a past of 12000 years back, which our history has neglected so far- ..challenges that our ancient pre-historic forefathers left us to ask in various corners of the planet— in the Nazca lines and Machu Pichu of Peru, in Chichen Itza of Mexico, in the Lake Titicaca and Gateway of the Sun at Tiahuanaco in Bolivia, in the city of Teotihuacan in Mexico where just 2% of the site is excavated, in the Negroid Olmec faces of La Venta, and of course, the most preserved of all sites, at Giza in Egypt. The author challenges to ask questions on the hidden messages and codes in our mythological stories, which surprisingly cast a similar tale of the early Gods arriving on boats or ships after the great deluge, and responsible for the beginning or educating the human race- from Manu in Hindu mythology who was saved by Fish Avatar in the times of the great Flood, to Lord Viracocha of the Andes Mountains, God Kukulkan/Quetzalcoatl of pre-historic Mexico , and to Ra the Sun-God and Osiris and Isis of Heliopolis in Egypt. In leaving out the stamp of the important event date of any generation, the most probable of all things, is to identify the date with respect to the celestial sphere, and to identify an event in the night sky to correctly correspond to a date, and the most appropriate of all is the process of precession, where the very axis of our wobbling planet makes a circular clock-wise rotation around its own axis once in 26,000 years, , i.e. 72 ( =26000/360 degrees)years to traverse 1 degree, and 2160 ( 72 x 30) years to traverse one zodiac sign of 30 degrees, and 4320 for two signs or 60 degrees , and so on.So, is it a mere coincidence that the River Nile, and the 3 great pyramids of Giza, namely, Khufu, Khafra, and Menkaura exactly resembles the mirror image of the Milky way and the three middle stars of Orion constellation as it looked in 10500BC in the polar northern sky- Orion being religiously associated with God Osisis - and is it a coincidence that the half –lioness Sphinx is aligned to Leo constellation in the Spring Equinox of the Eastern Sky, as the Sun rose up in the visible sky of 10500 BC? That the four faces of the pyramids are so truly aligned to the North, South, East and West that it is astounding for the technological intelligence of the race that built it with mammoth stone blocks , without any apparent advanced construction technologies such as jewel bit power drills and mammoth cranes at hand? Is it a mere coincidence that the Great Pyramids are full of mathematical symbols and ratios, that its ratio of perimeter and height is a measure of 2 times pi, or the base perimeter & height of the pyramid is a 1:43200 scaled down model from the Earth’s perimeter and polar height in the northern hemisphere? Is it a coincidence and chance, that LifeSpan of Manu in Hindu mythology – considered the father of Manava, or the human race itself- is depicted at 71 Mahyuga’s, each Mahayuga being 4,320,000 years consisting of Satya Yuga of 4 x 432000 years, Tretya Yuga of 3 x 432000 years, Dvapara Yuga of 2 x432000 years, and Kali Yuga of 432000 years? The mathematical city of Teotiuacan, where the pyramid construction also follow the pi relationship ( perimeter = 4 pi times the height) and the layout in the Street of the Dead resembles the Solar System; the accentuation of equinox events at Sphinx that looks fearlessly to the eastern skyboard to look at its mirror image Constellation Leo as it appeared on the Spring Equinox of 10500BC; as the giant shadow plays of serpents appear every equinox on the steps of Kukulkan temple at Chichen Itza; the precise shadow markings on both equinoxes at the Street of the Dead, the author contest that such mathematical and astronomical refinements, suddenly appearing in these places, can only be possible by “inheritance” of a culture handed down to them by a third party. And what if , these are not just coincidences and chances? Do all these hidden messages beg for an open minded consideration and scrutiny, even if to reject them afterwards? Why these precession numbers and their multiples – 72 ( sometimes 71), 108, 2160, 21600, 43200- are again and again popping out of all religious texts and the old architecture plannings? Are these the whispers of the ancients asking for our attention? The author suggests that Viracocha of South America, Kukulkan/ Quetzalcoatl of Central America, and Osiris of Egypt, considered to be great teachers/Gods/creators of life after the great flood.. they all are the survivors of an far ancient culture that once inhabited the continent of Antarctica when it was in a moderate climate before the great flood of 10500 BC and before Antarctica was pushed to the Antarctic circle by earth-crust displacement , or continental drift, or any other reason. In the planets’ history, Ice Age began in 113000 BC around the same time that the Neanderthal man appeared. The modern homo sapiens established themselves by around 35000 BC. De-glaciation started around 13000BC, resulting in great floods everywhere , and resulting most of animal extinctions between 11000BC to 9000BC. During this flood and mass extinctions on planet earth, the ancient people of Antarctica moved to different places, including the Americas and Egypt, resulting in sudden flourishing of the culture at those places around 10500BC. This great flood is recorded in the cultural mythologies of almost all religions such as Noah of Ark story, the story of Matsya Avatar in Hinduism, story of Viracocha and Quetzalcoatl arriving from the far eastern sea on rafts of serpents, other stories. By finding the similarilities between the American and Egyptican architectures, mathematical refinements and calender formulations, their astronomical achievements; and by finding the similarities in the myths and religious texts, the author nicely finds the perfect fit for the Cindrella’s shoe.Hancock’s 500 page tome is a beautiful narrative bursting with facts and references, and tries to find the perfect fit of Cindrella’s shoe in mythology, pre-history and architectural symbols. Recommended for the like-minded, not because the book answers the above questions, but because it has raised these questions in the first place…
