I purchased this book primarily because I have several other books with hymn and praise songs arranged by Carol Tornquist and I thoroughly enjoy those pieces. I expected the same quality and depth but I was very disappointed. Many of the songs are old and only a few are more modern. It is my fault for not reading the entire table of contents. That would have been acceptable if the arrangements had been more challenging; I found them too simple and boring even though the description states “Early Advanced Piano”. They were definitely an Intermediate level and not appropriate for church functions in my opinion. I do not recommend this book to anyone looking for Carol’s usual creative style of arranging.

I took piano lessons for 10+ years as a kid. I would describe my ability as I know how to play because I was taught not because I’m exceptionally musically gifted. But it’s been 20 years since I have taken lessons and I have been able to make my way through many of these songs. Definitely helps knowing the songs, makes it a LOT easier!If I was daring enough to play in church this would be an awesome go to book!

I can sit and play these songs forever. SO peaceful. Not too hard or too easy but just right. Take modern music and makes the rhythms easy to feel for a more classically trained musician. How I wish there were MORE of these arrangements with more current songs. PLEASE PUBLISH MORE LIKE THESE!

This is a very nice collection of songs for piano.

I'm a church pianist, and this book is a great resource for preludes and postludes I play with other members of the praise team band. Virtually EVERY praise song I could ever think of is in here!

Not one familiar song

Arrived quickly and in excellent shape. It was exactly as advertised and exactly what I was looking for. A good book to use for communion at church or for before worship.

I sat down and could not stop playing. Very interesting and beautiful arrangements
