2nd Skull Protective Headband with Silicone Grip (Radiant Black)

My son wears this willingly to every practice and game, even though he is the only kid on his soccer team to use head protection. His friends (7th-12th grade) think it looks cool and want to get their own. That matters to me, because no matter how protective a helmet is, it won't do him any good unless he's actually wearing it. This is comfortable, breathable, and stays in place well.Does it work?I did a lot of research on this before buying it. The 2nd Skull website has a lot of scientific info and test results by sport, but what got me was a video of the 2nd Skull material being hit by a bowling ball. Do a search for it on YouTube.The test results per sport are available on the manufacturer's website, but Amazon won't let me insert a link.Basically, the headband has a full insert that is soft and flexible, like very dense foam, and this insert gets hard as a rock on strong impact. Lighter impacts probably won't cause the insert to harden, but the headband should still help distribute the force of a minor collision.I'm guessing the 2nd Skull isn't going to be as protective as the Storelli Headguard,  Storelli Sports HeadGuard, Black, 4  but again, my son will wear this one. And I'm sure it offers a lot more protection than having nothing at all. Overall, it was expensive but well worth the money and I would buy it again.***IMPORTANT: Do Not Put This In The Wash!*** The tag says that this is machine washable on cold, but it really isn't. When we washed ours, the insert bunched up and twisted, and the logo started peeling off. But we liked it enough to exchange it for a new one which we will hand-wash only.

Too thin to give any protection. For $50 I expected something more significant. It's thinner than a terrycloth headband.my 14 ur old daughter hated it.Said it was too tight and she threw it off in the middle of a game. Only wore it 3 times and the material inside bunched up and I had to shimmy it back over. Will be returning it .

Didn't meet expectations.

Stretches out after 1 use. Doesn't protect very well. My kid got knocked in the head. Perhaps it helped, but there is a big bruise.

My daughter wears this for all her basketball games. Since having her concussion a year ago during a basketball game where her head hit the hardwood floor, she plays with confidence having this on. I would highly recommend to all parents. She will never go on the basketball court without it on.

Not thrilled with this! We weren't able to use this due to it stretching!
