TINKERTOY ‒ 100 Piece Essentials Value Set ‒ Ages 3+ Preschool Education Toy

We bought one of these sets on sale at Christmas for my four year old son.. It was such a hit I bought another at full price to enlarge our collection. I think sometimes it is tempting to buy toys that are a little 'beyond' our children, so they get maximum use out of them. This is perhaps aimed at slightly younger children, and that meant my son needed no help using it - he could just look at the pictures on the box and build his creations. Plus the pieces are nice and sturdy, so his homemade light sabers and fishing rods can withstand boisterous play. I highly recommend this.

We bought the 100-pack thinking surely that's a lot of pieces, but when you open the box, it doesn't feel like there's that much. Despite that, my daughter loves these and can spend hours playing with them. I think as she gets older and more creative, we'll add to our collection, but for now, 100 pieces are enough for our 3.5-year-old.Other reviewers have mentioned having a hard time connecting and unconnecting pieces. We've never had that problem (unless my daughter is trying to accomplish the impossible). Gramma has the original wooden TinkerToys, and I find these to be a big improvement. I'm not worried about these breaking and the bendability feature makes for more building options.

These are totally amazing and addicting!! You can let your imagination take over as you construct all sorts of creations. Bought these for my then 3yo but they have been fun for the whole family. I ended up buying a second set so that we could have double the parts and pieces. If you're familiar with the old wooden tinker toys, you have to try these. The same concept with newly updated pieces that twist and bend. The possibilities are endless!!!

My 3 year old LOVED these. We had a wooden set and were bummed to find out the wooden ones aren't in stock, but after multiple pieces started splitting and getting stuck together, we got these and they're great. They kind of "click" together which isn't always the easiest for my toddler but he loves building with these. as he gets older, I am sure his collection of these will grow. You can make so many things and he loves it when he gets to build with his PopPa. Some of the "designs" are a far stretch from what they look like, but that doesn't bother my son, he's ok pretending it is whatever we say it is.

I bought this for my son (6 years old) for Christmas to add to his 3 other sets. The pieces are different from his other sets which added to his ability to create objects and his excitement. He spends hours using his creativity and combines this with gears and other stem toys. I highly recommend this set! Over time you can expand the sets to give them so many choices for creativity. I bought these on as a las minute gift, thinking it might be something my 3 year old would like. I was taking a total chance because I know these are not something he had ever played with before. I was hoping they wouldn't be too complicated for him to figure out. Well to my surprise he hasn't quit playing with them since he got them. He LOVES them and can make things with such ease! Keeps his mind and hands busy! I'm seriously Thinking about buying more!!!!

Kids love it (4 and 2). They play endlessly with this stuff for hours (which satisfies my mom-nostalgia) and never come up with a shortage of things that they're going to build.That being the case, some of the pieces I just wish it came with more of. It only comes with four corner pieces, which is a bummer because my kid designs some epic "houses" with them and is bummed he has to repurpose other bits for stability... I guess what I'm saying it... I wish I'd gotten the bigger set! Seriously, just as great as I remember them from being a kid.

We've had tinker toys in our house for years. I loved them as a kid and I had an older set for my grandkids to play with when they came over. I ordered this set for my grandson, because he loves them. It had some new pieces that the old set didn't have. These are bright colored, new kinds of pieces to go with the old....just a great toy for young school aged children.
