More Crunch Than A Bag Of Chips
For $27+ I was not really expecting much, but wow was I wrong. I had heard such good things about this pedal that I really wanted to try it as an inexpensive addition to my board. After plugging this through my Vox NT50H WOW!. Both My PRS and my USA Stratocaster sound absolutely amazing. Such a versatile pedal, you can dial in some sweet Texas Blues and Crank it right on up into some nicely saturated distortion territory. The best part is that it did not color my tone any noticeable amount. Very very happy with this purchase. Give it a try, it is well worth the money.

Oodles of good sounds
Not a lot to add to the other positive reviews - this is a great bang for the buck overdrive pedal. I'll disagree with those that imply you need to pair it with a good tube amp - you'll get good crunch in front of a solid state amp, or even when recorded direct in. Solves a dilemma that lots of bedroom guitarists have - how to get a nice overdriven sound at low volumes. Goes from subtle overdrive to over-the-top metal distortion with tons of sustain. Acceptable level of noise for pedals that do the overdrive/distortion thing. Don't expect 100% quiet - especially at more extreme settings.Everything about the pedal seems sturdy and solid, except for the switch which feels cheap (seems flimsier than my other Joyo, a Dyna Compressor.) It also takes more pressure to engage than other pedals. Yeah, it's a budget pedal, but Joyo should spend a couple more bucks (if that) on the switch - I don't think anyone would object to paying just a little more for this pedal.Yuck to the insufficient contrast between the stompbox color and the lettering for the controls, which makes it VERY hard to read. The problem is compounded for the top two controls - "Volume" and "Dist" - since the pointy dials (which I love, by the way) can also partially obscure the lettering. Other folks may not care but I like controls clearly labeled and am going to use some paint or stickers on this one.If you use batteries for your pedals note that there is no outside battery compartment - another cost cutting move - and you have to unscrew 4 easily losable screws on the back to change batteries. The LED dims when you need to change batteries, so you do get a heads up. Obviously not an issue if you use external power. And as an aside, note that the standard 9V DC connector is located on the right of the pedal, just below the input jack, and not at the top.I don't have any significant reservations about recommending the Deluxe Crunch because it oozes oodles of good sounds. I'm knocking the pedal down a star because even at this price point it could be improved upon and Amazon doesn't let me give it 4-1/2.A worthwhile addition whether you are on a budget or not.

Sounds Pretty Good...
I bought this pedal thinking the "Pre" knob was a Preamp gain knob, like to add more overdrive, a different flavor than the distortion. I watched a review on YouTube that stated this. The pre knob is actually a presence knob, and adds more upper mids and high end; this does create more gain and volume, but is not the same as overdrive. Overall, the pedal did sound pretty good as a simple distortion box.The character of the distortion sounded very similar to the gain channel of my Blackstar HT Club 40, but it was brighter and not as thick and full sounding, which could be a good thing. I ended up returning it, but that is just because it is not what I am looking for. It does seem to be rather flimsy construction, which is not too big a deal to me as I play mostly in my basement. It might be a bigger deal to a gigging guitarist. I wouldn't trust it to hold up to much abuse, especially the switch.EDIT: The above review is for a Joyo Deluxe Crunch pedal, not for the JF-02 Ultimate overdrive. I don't know why Amazon has this review posted under the JF-02. I do have the Ultimate Drive and it is much better than the Deluxe Crunch was. The DC was thin sounding and was not solidly built. This pedal is built very well. It sounds much better too. The overdrive is very thick, and has a lot of low end to it. It works well into the clean channel of my Blackstar HT 40. I have noticed the JF-02 has issues sometimes with certain setups with noise. I am not sure what causes it. I have not been able to use the pedal with some setups because it is so noisy. The noise is greatly reduced when I have other pedals in front of the JF-02, like a tuner or a wah pedal. But with some pedals in front of it, or if the JF-02 is the first pedal in the chain it is unusable because of the horrible noise. When it is in a good place in the chain, it sounds pretty good. I have not figured out why it works well with some pedals but not others. This is something that I think people should be made aware of though. It may not play well with the pedals you have, so you are kind of taking a chance. But at only $30 its not too big of a deal to return it.
