I bought this as a gift and it surpassed my expectations. in fact, I will be buying one for myself. I am a "string" person, love my baritone ukulele and guitar, but the musical tones that even an amateur can create on the kalimba gave me the same feeling of happiness while playing it. The craftsmanship is wonderful. Did I mention that it takes up no room? I live in a tiny house so it will be perfect. I look forward to owning this gem.

I already had a traditional Kalimba. I wanted to try one with the ability to connect an amp. It is helpful to be able to increase the sound in larger spaces. It is also useful for older people who may have difficulty hearing. I would have given it five stars, except, as is the case with many kalimba, the far keys on either end are crammed and you have difficulty getting them to sound the way they should. You will have to fiddle with it a bit. It may need more frequent tuning than other models, but that can be common in kalimbas at this price point. It is a great starting instrument. Be sure to purchase music books made for kalimbas. It will make learning easier. There are also some great YouTube videos.

I ordered this for a gift for my little sister for Christmas and I let me just say that she loved it. Not only did she love it, we all wanted to play it and not give it back to her. lol. I would highly recommend this for a gift to someone who loves music and loves to play piano or any instrument for that matter. It came with not with all the tools needed to play and tune, a started book of songs, a cord to plug into an amp if you wanted to, as well as a case and bag to keep everything in. This would be a great gift to a child or teen who is wanting to get into music as well and it is a great value for the price. They will love it!

It is pretty nice, got the bamboo one and its look is easy on the eyes. My main reason to get was the plugin option, love that! Overall, the body is pretty smooth but maybe a bit more rectangular than a pair of beginner petite hands would like? No sharp edges though, good enough craftsmanship. Reasonable price, and the music is heavenly. Thank you!

I LOVE the tone of this. It’s so serene and beautiful. I’m learning but even with mistakes it’s lovely. I was surprised at the price...much less than I thought I’d have to pay. There’s a guy on Reddit who plays this and I watch him and try to play along with him. It really helped me. I’m 76 and this is my first musical instrument. I’m very pleased with this purchase.

It is very well made musical instrument, they took the time for every detail. Worth the price. It is a birthday present for my teenager son, I hope he will take the time to learn how to play and do something else besides playing Xbox.

Unit sounds good. The output jack was pretty much broken when i got (instrument cable very loose causing poor connection) it so can't really use the built in pickup. Best to by a better unit or not get the one with a pickup from this company.

I purchased this as a gift. It arrived a day late and has a crack all the way up the back. The packaging shows no sign of damage but the wood is split completely through. It looks as if it split due to improper curing of the wood.Very disappointed.
