I have read this book before but I enjoyed it more this time!!! 😊 I guess it could be my age or it was meeting a an old friend. She went through much abuse but pushed forward. A greet book!!!!! 😊

It was to long and some parts was boring

The book was like new and exactly what I was looking for to replace a lost copy.

I was so excited to get this book on CD, it is one of my favortie stories. Too bad I never got past disk #3! The disk had a reverb sound and then dropped out....I exchanged it for another and the exact same thing happened in the exact same placed! I have to wonder if I was sent the same one twice????So....I never did hear the book!

This novel by Charlotte Brontë is excellent. It overflows with strong, artful prose and indelible moments. Anyone interested in the art or history of the English-language novel should read this.My review isn't for the novel, but for this edition edited by Stevie Davies. In short, the end notes are full of spoilers. Chalk full! I enjoy reading annotated editions of important novels. But you shouldn't read any of the end notes here unless you want a great number of huge elements given away in terms of later narrative development. I'm astounded they took this approach since I have never seen this done with any novel before. The editor and publisher can choose what approach they like of course. But since this is such an atypical choice for the end notes, with big consequences on the reader's experience, a disclaimer or notice about this should be emblazoned on the copy itself. It isn't. Even with the "Notes" section at the end of the book, there is nothing there about the extensive spoiler alerts. Poorly done.

En el extremo opuesto hay unas porquerías tan obvias que basta con leer una página para saber lo que son. Pero hay otras versiones más sutilmente mejores o menos buenas.Algunas de las versiones disponibles en Kindle no mencionan al traductor (lo cual está muy mal hecho). En la mayoría de los casos, identificaré aquí las diferentes traducciones por las primeras palabras del Capítulo 1. Mi lista va en orden, de la mejor traducción a la peor.LAS MEJOR TRADUCCIONES:La de de Toni Hill (Penguin Clásicos, edición que incluye la magnífica introducción por Stevie Davis, miembro de la Royal Society of Literature)La de Carmen Martín Gaite, que empieza así:«Aquel día no hubo manera de dar un paseo. I love listening to audio books and I can honestly say that Julie Mills' reading of Jane Eyre was the most pleasurable listening experience I've ever had. Her interpretation of this story and each of the characters is truly amazing. I haven't watched the movie of Jane Eyre, but I can't believe it will be better than listening to this audio book. I have the actual book, too, which I would read when it was more convenient than listening, and there is no comparison! I now want to find other books narrated by Juliet Mills (of course, some of the credit must be given to Charlotte Bronte, too!) I listened to the Unabridged version, however, so I'm not sure how good the abridged version is. If Juliet Mills is reading it, it MUST be excellent.

This novel is quite simply the definition of a Classic. Narrated gently, and with care for detail, Jane Eyre is a story overcoming prejudice, misfortune and poverty, through strength, goodness, kindness and patience.This is a re-read of a book I vaguely remember reading as a child, but despite knowing the ending, I found myself captivated by Brontës words told from Jane’s perspective as a reflection of her past. I felt every twist and turn, the sadness and heart-ache, the utter frustration at terrible choices made and sheer elation at unbelievable co-incidences (as you so often do in a true love story).Jane Eyre is the epitome of a strong female, unwilling to compromise her strong moral compass, or to bend from her true self. Yet Brontë allows her to share her inner thoughts and vulnerabilities with the reader, so that you feel a closeness and protectiveness over her central character, and utterly captivated by her novel.It isn’t a quick read, and typical for a classic, the level of detail and scenic descriptions take this book to just over 600 pages...but I wouldn’t remove even one.

The book arrived with creased pages, mainly the top right corner. Even the cover page was bent. The cover page is even splitting into. You can peel the cover print from the right hand top corner. It is really quite bad. the thick side of the book also has orange colour stains on it. Maybe from printing. If my daughter didn't need this particular version for school work, I would return. Not very happy as any copy of a book which I have picked up from a charity shop before was in better condition.

Classic book . Bought for my daughter as required by the school for summer reading! Arrived well packaged and in great condition!

Easy print size to be able to read and splash marks on chapter pages are a nice touch

I chose this rating because I am much older now and found at times it went on too much ... Quite often repeating it self. I think the youth of today should read this Jayne Eyre story.
