I have purchased all the books in this series for children in my family.I have the habit of reading the books I buy for the kids first so I get no surprises.Texas Jake and his club could be any group of children, oops cats, any where. The characters of the cats are well deefined by this volume, but it is not necessary to read the previous novels to understand who is who or whats going on. TJ is a bully who finally meets his match in Marco and Polo's street wise mother.He is head of the "Club of Mysteries." Together they ponder mysteries that they encounter in their everyday lives. But Jake has a habit of assigning hazardous mysteries to the young brothers Marco and Polo to solve.The timely appearence of their mother saves them from harm and caused Texas Jake no end of jealousy and fear of losing his place as leader of the cats.The book is age appropriate and will be fun to read. The attitudes and actions of the cats can easily be transfered to the lives of children and parents can have an opportunity to talk about bullies, reckless acts, and how Mothers (even foot loose street wise one's)have lessons to teach.

Great story - interest for grade school kids, and advanced enough reading for kids reading ahead. My third grader is a little frightened of so many words and so few pictures. But maybe at the end of third grade...

This is the 4th book of the series about Marco and Polo, the adventurous cat brothers and the Club of Mysteries. I read this to my 2nd grade class, and they loved it! It's a great book for kids. Plenty of adventure, mystery, and humor.

I read the entire "Cat Pack" series to my fourth graders. They can't wait to find out what happens next. This is the last in the four book series. However, each book can be enjoyed by itself as background is alwayswoven into the beginning parts of each book. They are also great prizes for back to school night or open houses.

I ordered this book to go with the other books in the Grand Escape series. Mrs. Naylor should have stopped while she was ahead. It was like reading a rerun.I do love the other books in the series and read them to my class at school. The book was in great shape and was sent quickly.

Great set of books for anyone who enjoys reading to their kids or for 2nd or 3rd graders who can read on their own. Stories are enjoyableand the adventure of the kittens keeps everyone entertained.
