Ultimate Direction Body Bottle 500 Insulated

I purchased this to replace a lost soft bottle that came with my ultimate direction hydration pack. This is a bit bigger, as it’s insulated, so it’s a little more snug in the pouch on the vest, however, that means there’s less folding in on itself throughout the run as it get emptied.Easy to use. Fluids stay relatively cool since I sue this pack primarily in the hotter months that’s nice. Cleans fine - but I have a brush set for bottles that I use to help with cleaning it out.It’s sturdy, has worked well through two trail races, one of them 28 miles.m, the other only 16 miles. I’ve used it as primary fluid source on shorter trail runs for training and as a secondary fluid (mainly electrolytes) on long hikes.I do recommend this. But if you intend to use it with a pack, do what you can to ensure it will fit in the pocket you plan to carry it in.

Way better than stock UD bottles but the plastic taste takes a lot of washes to get out

Because of the thickness of the water bottle walls it does not fit properly in my Ultimate Direction vest. In the image you can see the difference in fit between the original 500 ml bottle that came with the vest And the new 500 ml insulated bottle... after some sips of water you can manage to tug it better into the vest.

The bottle is leak proof. It took me a little while to figure out that you need to bite the top to get the water to flow. The mouth piece has the plastic taste.

I have both of UD's body bottles and I prefer this one. The insulation helps keep this a bit cooler and doesn't add a ton of bulk. This bit valve is better for me.

Works great with my Ultimate Direction vest. None of these bottles have busted yet!

Love these bottles! They hold ice and ice cold water for long periods of distance running ♥️

This bottle may keep drinks colder for a little bit longer than a traditional soft-flask bottle, but the difference is negligible and not worth the ultra-premium price. Even filling this bottle with mostly ice doesn't extend the cold beverage very long. I give them a 2-star as the wide opening to fill with ice, powder, and liquids is nice; the bite valve works well; and it is devoid of leaking issues that I often encounter with traditional soft flasks. But I can't rate it any higher as I suspect most buyers choose this product for the purpose of keeping drinks cold, and it doesn't deliver on that feature.
