Beautiful reel, high quality
Bought this reel to replace an aging Lamson Radius. I say aging, but not really, it's still a good reel. OK let's just say I wanted to modernize. I have nothing but Lamson reels. American made, very light, finely engineered and excellent craftsmanship. The drag is wonderful. The green color (darker than pictured, but who cares) is gorgeous and mates well with the green on my Winston. This is considered middle of the price range for reels however, this reel is as good or better than other pricey reels. This is the perfect reel for me and my budget and will last for years to come. My Radius is over ten and still looks and performs wonderfully. Lamson is the reel to have.

Great US made reel
Got mine on an 8wt NRX+. Excellent reel, very light and works perfectly with this rod. Only used it a couple times so far, but this isn't my first reel and it's obvious this one is made to last. Also have a Lamson Litespeed G5 9+, and 2 Lamson Liquids. Haven't had a single issue with any of them. Lamson makes great reels. Best value for a US made reel.

Lamson Guru S is an awesome reel.
This Lamson Guru S is an awesome reel. Paired it with a TFO 10' 6 weight rod and caught a nice 23" rainbow trout on the first time using the setup. Fought the fish off the reel and the drag system worked incredible, so smooth. It's a nice looking lightweight reel that performed flawlessly. Love it!

Works great!
I purchased a Chinese reel last year. Half way through a back country trip where we troll flies behind a kayak, the drag failed. I had to tighten it hard to get it to hold at all. The fish would hit and bend the pole in half. The drag would then fail and free-wheel leaving a rats nest to untangle. It ruined the last half of the trip. I've caught approximately 100, 5+ pound fish on this Lamson reel without a single problem. This reel has been very dependable so far. I wish I would have had this reel last year.

Stellar! Lamson For The Serious Fly Fisherman
Another stellar reel from Lamson. Purchased the 3.5 and loaded it with Cortland Tropic Plus Redfish line - balances extremely well with my 8wt rod. Been submerged many times thus far is salt water whith no ill affects. This is a super lightweight reel with one of the best drag systems on the market today. This is my 4th Lamson reel ... will be purchasing more in the near future.

Best drag system
I own several of these in order to fish at different depths. Fantastic drag, very smooth and consistent with fine adjustment capability. Well constructed.

Great reel. Looks good on my Winston
Great reel. Figuring out how to remove the spool was a trick and is actually easy. If you can't figure it out, there's youtube videos. It's easy, just have to know what to do.

Quality Product, And Recommended Seller. The sizing has changed since the last iteration.
I gave this 5 stars because the transaction was perfect, and delivery was prompt. I'm writing this review just for informational purposes I guess. The Guru S series reels are another great product from Lamson, however the sizing has seemed to change since the last model Guru. These new ones are like a 1/2 size in between the prior model. I am a huge fan of the older ones, so I was a little bummed when I received this one to find out that it's a bit bigger than it's predecessor. If you're not picky about weighting and sizing, you should be totally fine. It was just a hair on the large side for me.
