Actiontec MWTV200T-01 My WirelessTV WiFi HDMI Transmitter

Bought the txmtr/recvr kit in Dec 2011; installed the firmware upgrade Feb 2012.Setup was easy; good reception of video + sound 40 feet away, through 3 interior walls (2x4 studs + wallboard).Equally important, the IR extender works well; can control DirecTV source through ActionTec, switch channels, see playlist, etc from remote location.HOWEVER, the txmtr seems to have failed 13 Feb 2013. Plugged into a surge protector, so no external cause.Presently evaluating IOGEAR Wireless 3D Digital kit; IR extender doesn't work. Back to store.Haven't found anything better, so will probably replace the txmtr. Out of warranty; bought it at Bestbuy, but they no longer carry it. If I buy another, will ask about warranty/repair first.Pretty experienced with computers, electronics.

I needed to connect HDMI from by basement to my first floor and was looking for a simple way to do it. If this is your first purchase of Actiontec WirelessTV products look for the product KIT that has both a transmitter and receiver as you need both to use this product.This product is easy to use: Just plug the HDMI cable from the source into the transmitter and another HDMI cable from the receiver to the TV. The first time you connect you will have to press a sync button the the devices and after that they will be able to send video.The receiver has a remote control and a menu screen on the connected TV that allows you to see available transmitters and signal strength. It is nice to know I can add more transmitters to allow me to connect more remote HDMI devices to my TV.The picture quality is excellent with a good signal. I have not tested with poor signal since the signal was good from my basement to the 1st floor. The object between the transmitter was some furnace duct work,walls, stairs.

I bought this item to stream Video from my family room to my theater room. I am not a video or computer novice. I have set up some pretty elaborate systems. This just plain did not work. I paired the devices, plugged them in where they were supposed to go (Can't really mess up). Had to power cycle the cable box and eventually got video in the theater room. NO SOUND. removed the transmitter from the source, sound returned to the source. Plugged it back in - NOTHING. Went to the website and downloaded the upgrade (why when you buy a brand new product you have to upgrade is beyond me but whatever) - No change whatsoever. Still optimistic, called tech support the next morning told the wait was LESS THAN A MINUTE...They lied. after 1/2 hour on hold, I had used my time wisely and found a different system and bought it. Hung up with customer service and used Amazon's awesome return policy to send my problem child back! - stay tuned to see if the new one works or not. Same Bat Time; Same Bat Channel!- UPDATE!!!!!bought an IOGEAR system - Works Flawlessly!

Online electronic purchases of used or open item are always a pig in a poke, so to speak. This item although the power lights did come on it would not sync with any other receiver. These electronic items are always at a disadvantage when being shipped UPS, USPS or FEDEX.

It works, but it is complicated to setup and not user friendly (for example, if you want to use the remote control). If you are the average consumer, you won't be able to know how to use this. If you are a techie, you might really enjoy it. I'm sort of on the techie side, but I don't fully use it because it is too much of a hassle. Mostly wasted money for me. I wish there was a simpler way to get out of paying Comcast's (AT&T) outrageous cable fees.

This unit is just what I wanted. It connects a 19" TV in my kitchen with my TV in the livingroom. I didn't want to run cable up into the kitchen. I now have a portable TV I can put in any room in my house. The picture quality is wonderful. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Couldn't get the transmitter (MWTV200T) and receiver (MWTV200R) to sync up no matter how many times I tried to cycle the power on both units, the tv, the cable,etc. I called their support number ( which give no support whatsoever!!) you can tell they read from a script, and when they fail to help you, their answer is to return the product. You figured you spend a fair amount of $$ for this product, at least you think you are getting a quality unit. VERY WRONG!!

The order was suppose to be for the Actiontec My Wireless TV WiFi / HDMI Multi-Room Wireless HD Video Kit but what I received was just the Transmitter, either there was a misprint in the add or the add was very misleading. I am very dissatisfied with this purchase.
