Worked well but couldn't replace my ladder, just added to it...
I have a new metal loft bed I had put together for my 9 year old son when I wanted to free up some space in his room. I got one with a full length desk underneath the bed, so I could get rid of some other furniture in his room as well. The problem was the stairs were just absolute junk. He hated them - very small metal rungs on the ladder, about 1 inch square, so they dug into his feet. I wanted something with a wider rung that would be more comfortable.I finally found this, and for the price figured it was worth a shot.It arrived quickly, but I hadn't considered that the original ladder bolted to the frame, and since it's a "Z Frame" bed, there's no support directly under the corners of the bed - so without that ladder bolted to the frame, the corner had a tendency to sag a bit as he got in it. I wasn't worried about it since the bed is rated for 230 lbs and he only weighs about 50 or so, but the "hooks" on this bed are very shallow, and it might've been enough wiggle the frame under the edges.Fortunately for me, the rungs were EXACTLY the same height and distance with this and the original, so I simply swung the hooks to the sides (I will ultimately just unscrew them and take them off) and I was able to hide zip ties under the bottom and top rungs on each side to secure it to the existing ladder that I kept in place. Now the bed still has the designed support coming from the ladder, but he's got the nice wide comfortable rungs to climb up in his bare feet - rungs that are far less slippery than the painted metal of the original. So while it wasn't a perfect solution, ultimately it worked out great anyway.

Works well for a couple of purposes
Of course it's useful to get up to the over-cab bed in our Class C RV, but as an RV newbie (and not a youngster) I was worried about rolling out of bed and falling six feet down! So after climbing up and getting into the sleeping bag, I place the ladder on its side wedged into place beside my foam mattress bed (see other review for details on that product). The foam keeps the ladder in place and it acts like a barrier so even it I rolled right into it while asleep, it would stop me from falling. I'd give the product a 5 except it hurts my feet a little coming down, some padding instead of hard plastic steps would have helped this. Overall a good buy.

Great ladder- just does not have the hook fasteners to secure to the bunk
This would be a much better review of the product clearly stated that while the ladder has the fasteners to connect the ladder, it does not come with the hardware to attach to the bunch to secure the ladder with.

Motorhome Bunk Ladder
Ordered to replace painted steel ladder that had 1" angle steel for steps. My goal was primarily a step that felt better on bare feet. The photo of this ladder lead me to believe the steps had a angle to them so the surface was close to flat as you stepped on them. However they are horizontal flat only if ladder is straight up. With the lean needed for use the ladder this steps are angled also so you still step on the angle edge of the step. This is my reason for four stars.Ladder is light and feet were easily removed to cut a couple inches off bottom so length is adjusted to best fit.

Good quality and worth the purchase
Purchased this ladder because the RV only had one built in ladder for the bunk house leaving the other bunk with no access. The ladder was a bit too tall but there are no other ladders on the market to meet the needs. A quick fix was to cut some of the bottom of the ladder and reattach the foot pads allowing the ladder to lean on the bunk providing access. A secure ladder that is much better than the factory built in one. The foot treads are comfortable to walk up and have ridges to avoid slipping.

the steps are not level on a slant and has no mounting hardware
this ladder is not as shown in picture and does not come with mounting hardware or instructions. i bought this for my granddaughter's bunk bed after a wooden one broke. i had previously bought another metal ladder but the steps were not level when the ladder was mounted on a slant. i bought this ladder based on the picture which shows the steps level when mounted on a slant. i removed it upon receipt and noticed one, that there was no mounting hardware or instructions and two, the step are straight across the support poles which means that my granddaughter must step on the edge of the step like the other ladder which i planned to send back. while the construction seems strong enough it does not work for the purpose i bought it for. i have requested a return authorization from the company. i will let you know how it turns out.

Good ladder but the the screws for the hooks are ...
Good ladder but the the screws for the hooks are so tight I can't even loosen them to make them go straight. I got one of them but the other one is near impossible.Aside from that it seems pretty sturdy but does me no good if I can't hook it onto the bed.
