Quality product and works exactly as intended
I've bought 4 over the past couple of years and always has been quality product. I use these over rockwool and does exactly as I need. Small hole on top-middle to drop seeds into. I like the micronutrients included to help the seeds sprout then I can just place the whole thing into a net pot with pebbles and plants just take off! Very satisfied and a wonderful product!

They Actually Work — Even for People Without a Green Thumb
Pros: Very high success rate with cuttings and seedlings Pre-moistened and ready to use out of the bag Stays moist for days — no constant watering needed No mold issues (even in humid Florida!) Excellent quality and well-constructed Great for beginners — super easy to use Produces stronger, healthier plants Cons: Bag arrives a bit damp — might be a turn-off for some Moisture in the bag could be a concern if storing long-term They Actually Work — Even for People Without a Green Thumb Believe it or not, these Rapid Rooter starter plugs have completely changed my gardening game. I don’t even have a green thumb (yet!), and I’m still getting fantastic results with these. Whether it’s for cuttings or seedlings, these plugs are super easy to use, and I’ve had a much higher success rate than I ever expected. They come pre-moistened, which honestly is kind of a plus and a minus. It’s convenient, but it might catch you off guard when you first open the bag. That said — I’m in humid Florida, and I’ve had zero mold issues, which is impressive. The plugs stay moist, the quality is solid, and my plants seem stronger and healthier coming out of these. Total game changer for me. If you’re even thinking about propagating anything, this is a product you’ll be glad you tried.

When stored and used properly, these are the best!
Rapid Rooter starter pucks for hydroponics I've used these for a couple of years now as starters for my hydroponics garden. When stored and used properly, they provide excellent, consistent germination. But you need to take a few precautions to get the best results. 1. Store the pucks in a sealed plastic bag. Do NOT let them dry out! 2. Store the bag of pucks in a light-tight container, such as a grocery bag with the top folded over. If you let light get to the pucks during storage, you will grow an interesting array of mold and small plants before you toss the pucks in the garbage and start over. 3. Put one seed in each puck, then place the puck in a small COVERED(!) germination tray. The cover prevents the puck from drying out as the seed germinates. 4. Do NOT add any water to the puck after adding the seed. If stored properly as above, the puck has the right amount of moisture to start germination. If you add water, even a drop, you will end up with damping-off fungus (white wispy fungus) that will kill your seedling. 5. After your seedling germinates, add a drop or two of water ONLY if the puck feels dry. If it feels damp or wet, do NOT add water! With the above tips, I have hit 100% germination rates on everything I try, including tomatoes, peppers, bush beans, and several different lettuces. I usually leave the puck in the germination tray until the first pair of true leaves appear, then move the puck to a hydro bucket. Great product; my hydro garden succeeds because of these pucks. Highly recommended.

Makes starting seeds a Breeze!
We have used General Hydroponics Rapid Rooter for seed starting for the last 5 years, and are thoroughly impressed with the results. As a couple who enjoys gardening and experimenting with different methods of propagation, we find these rooting plugs to be a game-changer. The Rapid Rooter plugs are incredibly easy to use—simply moisten them before inserting your seeds, and you're good to go. I appreciate the consistency in size and texture of the plugs, which ensures uniform growth and development of seedlings. Additionally, the plugs provide excellent aeration and moisture retention, creating an optimal environment for root growth. What we love most about the Rapid Rooter is its reliability. We've had great success with germination rates, with the majority of our seeds sprouting within a few days of planting. The plugs also make transplanting a breeze, as the roots easily penetrate the material without causing any damage. Furthermore, we appreciate that these rooting plugs are suitable for a wide range of plant species, from herbs and vegetables to flowers and ornamentals. Whether you're a seasoned gardener or just starting out, the General Hydroponics Rapid Rooter is a must-have for anyone looking to propagate plants efficiently and effectively. In conclusion, I highly recommend the General Hydroponics Rapid Rooter to fellow gardeners and plant enthusiasts. It's a reliable and cost-effective solution for seed starting that yields impressive results.

Soaked seeds for 12-16 hours, pop these into soaked rapid rooter cubes and then wait. Almost 100% germination rates. I don’t leave mine “in water”, but use these little rapid rooter/plug plastic holders which are readily available at stores. Holds moisture for a couple of days depending on humidity and east to transfer to large medium to grow. Rapid rooter makes seed germination simple and reliable.

They work really well, plants are very happy and healthy. Just a tad on the expensive side for what you get.

I bought these along with some rockwool when starting my hydroponic hobby. I wanted to see how these compared to the rock wool in terms of germination, rooting and overall plant health. So I planted the same seeds in Rapid Rooter and rockwool. I placed them in the same germination setup with a controlled temperature of 75 degrees. For this experiment Lettuce and Swiss Chard was used. After the first 48 hours both media had sprouts. The Rapid Rooter group had small roots already forming. With another 48 hours the roots in the rapid rooter group EXPLODED. The root growth was unbelievable. The rockwool still had none. The rapid rooter group is now ready to be moved to their DWC to continue growing while the rock wool roots are barely visible. I would recommend this product to anyone looking to germinate their seeds quickly and healthy.
