My mom loved it. Neat globe. It was smaller than expected.

The batteries deplete within one day, but it works on DC.
Visually, it’s a beautiful piece, with a large, substantial, glass globe and white snow. It came very well packaged in a styrofoam shipping box.I installed three fresh, new, AAA batteries, tested the music for a few seconds to make sure that worked, then turned off the music to preserve the batteries. I then turned on the snow-fan to test how long the batteries would last on the snow function alone. (The building lights were lighted during the snowfall feature.)Within twelve hours, the building lights were out, and there were only a few flakes of snow being weakly blown. Before 18 hours had passed, there were no snowflakes whatsoever, the lights were out, and a test of the music revealed that there was no music, either. But with a DC cord, it works fine. And their customer service is outstanding. As long as you use the DC cord, you’ll be very pleased.

Not what they say it is...
First point on the order of business:The bottom is NOT made from wood. It is just painted plastic, and not painted so that it look even remotely like the wood in the picture. Basically they have just given it a bit of shading, but there is no hint of wood grains.Second point:The paint job and the details in the figures is NOT as fine detailed as on the pictures! Mine even came with the top of the church tower not attached! I had to do that myself, after adjusting it for a bit with a box cutter, since it was too big to fit in the little hole on the top of the steeple. As someone who has spent many years as a young boy painting Warhammer (miniatures) I would say that this paint job is not done by someone who knows much about what they are doing, or just doesn't care.Which brings me to my conclusion!I would not recommend you get this if you are expecting something as nice as on the picture. It is a VERY nice snow globe, but the price doesn't reflect it's value, which I might set at 50 bucks. If you have experience with painting miniatures, I would strongly recommend you redo some of the details, since it can be fixed very quickly. It should also be said that it might make a good gift for someone who does miniatures, if they want something they can fiddle around with and keep as an awesome christmas decoration for the future. So to sum up:No wood, lack of detail, photoshopped pictures, a nice fixer-upper for a miniature enthusiast, not worth the price.

Excellent Customer Service!!!
I'm not usually one to spend so much money on just ONE christmas decoration, but I loved snow globes as a child, and I wanted to have one really nice snow globe for my son to look at during Christmas. This was a total impulse buy, but I LOVED it. Beautiful, intricate, and I love the feature that keeps the snow falling. We thoroughly enjoyed it our first Christmas. Unfortunately, by the time my second Christmas rolled around, the snow and lights feature were no longer working, even with new batteries. Knowing that my warranty had surely run out, I still contacted the company to see if there was anything they could do. They sent a replacement immediately, and I got it well before Christmas!!! You just don't see customer service like that anymore. They are definitely backing up their product!

Just received this snow globe and love it! It's exactly what we where hoping for
Just received this snow globe and love it! It's exactly what we where hoping for. Had a glitch in shipment but Brandford Exchange remedied the problem and all good! Now I'll be looking for an AC adapter to use with it since we'd like to run it for hours during the holidays but the batteries allow us to put it anywhere so can't complain.. It illuminates just right and the auto-snow effect is perfect! Great that you can choose to play the music, or not and even control the volume. This would make a great gift too.

Absolutely not worthwhile
I just got one for my wife for Christmas and was so excited as she recently lost her snow globe collection to an accident. That excitement quickly faded upon opening. The quality was terrible, and careless. I found chips in the wood base and plastic button plate. The painting work is shameful, but passable. I could have put up with those small defects but the major issue is not a single one of the electronic components work. No lights, no sound, and no pump. I tried 9 different brand new out of the box batteries to no avail. I asked for them to send a new one and they are out of stock and can't do so until well after Christmas has passed. I am very displeased and would advise anyone looking to buy this product in the future to find a company that cares more about quality and at least tests the product functions before shipping it.
