Excellent haggis, and it actually ships to Alaska
I am admittedly a bit of a haggis snob. Our family is pretty deeply immersed in Scottish culture, so this is not something I ordered purely for the novelty factor. I wanted haggis that actually tasted good and was close enough to what I expect it to be. This one absolutely delivered. First, it ships to Alaska, which is a bigger deal than it sounds. A lot of specialty foods either will not ship here or become prohibitively expensive to get here, so I was very happy to find an option that was easy to order and arrived without issue. The flavor is rich, savory, well seasoned, and very satisfying. We like to serve it hot with a little butter mixed in, and that makes it even better. The texture is exactly what I want from haggis, hearty without being unpleasant or overly heavy. The biggest endorsement, though, is that my kids genuinely love it. This is not one of those foods the adults eat while the kids stare suspiciously from across the table. They happily eat it and ask for more. If you are already familiar with haggis, I think this is a very solid option. If you are trying haggis for the first time, this is also a pretty approachable introduction. As someone who is fairly particular about Scottish food, I would happily order it again.

This product will not be reviewed until this Friday. I'll let you know.,
I would have to say that this product Haggard in a can was great. My two sisters and brothers did not enjoy it., on the other hand did very much so. As a connoisseur of different delectables, that one might be able to put on a saltine cracker I believe this would be great.. It has good taste good flavor, low sodium or low salt., it was fantastic. I ate half the can in front of my and they were all vomiting., 21 years military you eat a lot of different things that she didn't think of eating, but I would have to say that if I was a Scottish soldier during that time. I would be healthy and this is a delicious item.. anybody that wants to try something different. Keep an open mind that this was a delicious product.. thank you bert

It's haggis...
So, if you love haggis, this ought to be up your alley... As an American, I'm relatively new to the stuff, but enjoyed it tremendously during my recent trip to Scotland. So much so, that I decided to see how close I could get here without having the FDA raid my house. I don't know what specific flavor or texture the lung adds to haggis outside of our "free" country, but this was a bit more liver-forward than what I fell in love with. Not bad, just tasted of liver. The only thing I really didn't like about it was that the oats were too soft. The texture of all the haggis I had in Scotland was AMAZING! But the oats were the thing that made it that way. I'm glad I bought this, and I'll certainly keep it in mind if I get a hankering for haggis again. The picture is of a couple of Balmoral Chicken Bites that I made with the haggis, along with some whisky cream sauce and of course... neeps and tatties :)

Delicious - it will surprise you
Haggis is often viewed as disgusting by anyone who hasn't tried it, and that reputation is undeserved to the max. This is some dang fine food. The best way to describe it is as a very savory meaty flavor with heavy earthy undertones, as well as heavily spiced, and I mean earthy/aromatic spice, not heat. The meatiness aspect is not gamey, which i know a lot of people would expect it to be, given the ingredients. My mom refuses to eat red meat, even ground beef, yet when I basically forced her to try a single bite, not only did she immediately clean the plate, she went back for seconds, and then went back for thirds. For anyone new trying this, try browning it in a pan with a bit of butter. You'll enjoy it. I've bought and enjoyed this stuff numerous times, and will continue to do so in the future.

Good but too expensive
I like the product, but have too many questions. Like many other reviewers, one of my two cans was dented. That's unacceptable for a product costing over $12/can. The flavor is good. Many reviewers have said it doesn't taste like haggis from Scotland. I don't know what they mean, because if you travel Scotland, there are as many varieties of haggis as there are beer! Try haggis from 10 different joints and you'll get 11 different versions. But I'm not even sure this is from Scotland. Nowhere on the can does it way "product of Scotland." I can't imagine its from anywhere else, but who know. And the bar code is marked over so that it can't be scanned. What's up with that? Are we dealing with rejected cans from the factory?

Yummy.
Not too spicy. Very tasty and savory. Nice texture. Good size and not too big of a portion.

Perfect!
For canned haggis, this is outstanding! The taste and texture are spot-on, and the aftertaste is wonderful due to being perfectly seasoned. I prefer it a bit more peppery like what I had in Dumfries, but that's an easy fix. Overall, this is wonderful. Yes, it's expensive but it's also not something you'd eat every day. Pro Tip: This haggis is amazing in an omelette! Just microwave about 3 tbsp of the haggis (to warm it up) and then add it when the eggs are just about cooked and ready to fold over. Seriously... it's fantastic!!
