I would have paid a lot more for this keyboard case. Right out of the box you know there is high quality behind the production of this item. The case is metal (aluminum) and has increased the weight of my iPad Air 2 but the added weight is offset by the added utility of my iPad.Out of the box I was disappointed to find that the charging cable was missing. Dingrich quickly agreed to replace the missing cable but it will take another one to two weeks to arrive so I checked the charging connector on the case and discovered that my Kindle charge works perfectly to charge the Keyboard. Right out of the box the keyboard did some strange things when I tried to type, ultimately dropping the bluetooth connection almost immediately each time. After an overnight charge, however, the keyboard worked flawlessly. My iPad snaped into the case easily and firmly and the case closes with no problem. Tolerances are superb. I tested the keyboard action and found that although the keyboard spacing is small compared to a full size keyboard, I had no trouble using the keyboard for fast typing. The only caution is in reaching for the keys that are on the edges of the keyboard, like the shift key. I tend to reach too far so it takes a little getting used to but is no impediment to smooth keyboard use. The keyboard bluetooth pairs quickly with the iPad and once paired, automatically connects with the iPad when you open the case. So far, after several days of use, the keyboard has never failed to automatically connect with the iPad, nor does it fail to put all to sleep when the case is closed. The specialty keys save a lot of time and 'touch-clicks' on the iPad. I was especially delighted to find that the ''Delete" key deletes emails with one touch instead of several on the iPad, itself. Overall, my productivity with the iPad is going up by orders of magnitude because I now grab the iPad to do a number of things because of the keyboard where before I would boot up my computers because I do not like to used the virtual keyboard in the iPad, itself. I hesitated to buy this case because the iPad is not 'detachable'. It has to be popped out of the case to use separately. However, I also find that using the iPad with this case in landscape mode is no problem whatsoever. Anything that you can do in portrait mode you can do in landscape mode so the ability to detach is really not very important and having the keyboard as an integral part of the iPad is so functional that I do not miss portrait mode at all. I was looking for a Zagg case that would do exactly what the Dingrich case does, since I've used and like a number of Zagg casses in the past. However, they have nothing like this unit, nor does anyone else that I can see. If you are looking for a case that turns your iPad into a beautiful, slim computer (basically), this is it. The unit is great looking and is totally functional for what you want. I highly recommend it and I know that you won't be sorry.

I just received this case, and I really like it. After using it for a while, I will edit this review because the real quality will be shown over time.Upon first look, what is good about this case is that it looks like fine quality. The aluminum case is beautiful. The iPad 2 Air fits easily and perfectly into its place, and the Bluetooth paired very quickly with the keyboard. You have to press the FN key with the letter "C" key (marked with the Bluetooth symbol) to finalize the pairing. The keyboard is small which will require a bit of getting used to, but it works well. You still need to use the touch screen to start typing and for other functions, so it is not completely the same as a computer and keyboard, but it is still nicer than having to touch the screen to type.I was able to remove the iPad from the case easily using a credit-type card as instructed. It's actually good that it doesn't come out easily. You wouldn't want it to fall out accidently. It seems very secure as it is.My iPad now looks like a Mac book which is snazzy. The color is gorgeous, just perfect! I hope it holds up over time. I plan to use this when I travel instead of lugging my laptop all over the place.

I read a lot of product reviews before buying this for my iPad Air 2. I read a lot of buyer comments too. This looked and read like the best option for my use. THANKFULLY I WAS RIGHT! This is really nice looking and smooth functioning. I love all the extra key options and certainly appreciate the backlit keyboard during the evening. People in other reviews were fretting about how hard it was to remove the iPad from the case for other uses (and I can see how that would be tough and could damage your iPad), but I seriously won't ever take it out. Overall it's a lot heavier than the iPad alone but the keyboard area has to be heavier to keep it from tipping over -- something noted as an issue with other designs. So yes, it looks like a tiny laptop now but that virtual keyboard was a pain, so for me this is the very best option. Additionally, this case really protects th iPad a lot better. Overall very happy with this and highly recommend it for people needing a real-life keyboard option.

Literally turns your iPad into a lap top provided you have all the productivity tools you need. The case is very good looking, however, the finish scratches easily. So in no time with the most careful of handling it could start to look battle worn. Also, the case is a little heavy. But all in all, if you travel a lot and need to work while on the road, this case fits the bill. (The keyboard lights up in the dark. Very helpful on planes when flying at night.). Would help to have an instruction booklet.

An excellent product that works well, looks good and improves the utility of the IPad. One problem is notable.....and I'd like a good solution to eliminate the problem. Simply put....installing the IPad into the case is super easy......extracting it is difficult and feels like every time I do it, that the IPad is at risk of being damaged. For this reason alone, I'd be reluctant to buy it again. Yes, the vendor shows two ways to accomplish the task, but neither works well......this a major design flaw for what otherwise would be an excellent product.....the low rating is 100% attributable to the extraction issue.
