I really like the way the light looks, and it's the only Edison style retro bulb I've found that wasn't a really yellow color. I would give it five stars except it keeps flashing (not just flickering), like a strobe. I've tried it in three different fixtures so far, both upright and inverted, and it keeps doing the same thing. I'm hoping I just got a bad one and will try returning it and trying again. Update as of May 6th, 2016. The first one didn't work, but they refunded my money immediately, so their customer service was great. I purchased a second one and it is exactly what I was looking for, an old style bulb with a modern, whiter light.

Has no electronics to filter any low-voltage feedback from a dimmer or lighted switch - must be used with a simple on/off switch. This was my second try with different sellers, so I changed the wall switch. Otherwise, nice bright white light, working well.

I love these bulbs !!! Nice, clean, bright white light and I'm saving electricity !!! I bought the 70 or 75 watt equivalent bulbs and I use them in my kitchen and for my front door light. I'm buying more for myself and for friends as holiday gifts. Did I mention that they look great in my old fashioned light fixtures ? The Edison bulbs might look a bit more authentic, but they just don't throw off enough light to be practical. These do !!!

Weird blue color. I didn't like the color temp. Otherwise bulb seems to work fine.

Works great - bright and white. Delivered on time and packaged well. it is 5k light, so will be white light

Doesn't quite have the authentic, old-timey feel of a real Edison bulb, but as far as appearance - this is the best alternative that I've seen. I purchased the bright white version of this bulb. It also comes in a more yellowish, lower color temperature version. I have a feeling that the lower color temperature would be more pleasing than the bright white if you are looking for the Edison bulb appearance. I'm thinking of ordering one to find out - because this one is very bright white at 6000K. I can't complain though... the quality is good and I've been using it for some time with no issues.
