This appears to be an exact replacement for the original ignitor. The ignitor itself looks identical, the wires are the same length, etc. As others have noted, the problem is that the collar on the new ignitor is too big to fit in the stove. The original collar has an outer diameter of 0.74"(18.8mm). The new collar has an outer diameter of 0.786"(19.98mm). In my case, swapping the collars was very simple. Just be aware that you'll need both metric and imperial hex wrenches. The set screw on the original collar is 1/8" hex, but the new one is 3mm hex. That turned a 5 minute job into a 10 minute job. It seems to be working great, though.

I give this item a 5 yet have a serious problem with installation. I have had a PDVC-25 since around 2007 with an igniter that worked reasonable well until now. The vendor of this product which was extremely helpful as well as englander tech support. Had difficultly getting the original out and the new igniter collar doesn't fit my stove even after sanding it.The original igniter collar wont come off or I could have resused it. Still working on it. For the price and fast shipping it is worth the money. The other issue I don't know yet how to correct it and have on open case with englander. I will update when and if it is resolved. There is another review that had the same issue yet appeared to be able to use the original collar. The area where the igniter goes has been warped by stove heat? The standard 3/8 collar doesn't come close to fitting.UpdateFor some reason the outside of the 3/8 collar is wider than the original. Don't know why yet use the original by loosing the set screw. The problem with mine is that the original isn't straight. As a result I cant yet remove and reuse the original collar.UpdateHad assistance removing metal above collar and it then removed easily. New igniter heats much faster and is worth the cost.

This is not my first time working on pellet stoves and replacing ignitors. Replaced this one with little to no problem. It simply didn't last. I got less than 6 months of "off season:" use out of it. Simply burned out. Prior to knowing this, I purchased an additional unit and had the same results with it. I would encourage you to spend a little more money for a higher quality, longer lasting product.

Stopped working after 1 year of seasonal use. I purchased this igniter for my pellet stove about a year ago. I live in Massachusetts so we use it seasonally. Now the igniter stopped working almost exactly 1 year after installation.Anyone know if this is the common life cycle for an igniter? The installation was a bit tricky but doable. Watch your hands on the sharp metal of the stove. My stove had some tight spaces and cut my knuckles a few times. (I'm a handy person, some of the metal is razor blade sharp in my stove, use caution)I will most likely repurchase this item as it is a pain to light the stove manually and if I'm not home I don't want the kids playing with fire.

This was bought to replace the igniter on my 25-pdv Englander pellet stove. After fighting to get the old one out. (no fault of the seller) I went to put the new one in and it would not fit with the collar that is supplied. (would not fit in the hole.) I took the old collar off the old igniter and used it on the new one. I did take a nail file to the collar so it would fit perfectly. To sum up, the igniter itself works perfectly, it's the collar part that is too big.

The collar that comes on the igniter is to large in diameter to fit in the Englander stove I got it to work by switching collars from the original to the new one. Definitely does not get the pellets burning as fast on start up as the original igniter I wouldn’t recommend this one

i gave this a 5 star rating because it looks like a well made igniter and it shipped reasonably fast, however i have yet to install this igniter in my englander stove yet and several reviews say that the locking collar is too big so i may revise this review at a later date.

Works excellent arrived on time easy to install

Haven’t had much luck bought twice and only works for awhile and it’s stop igniting but when it works it’s great

item failed less than 30 days of being used almost got stuck inside stove from it swelling.

Installed it as we have many times over the last 15 years and this product blew our fuse right away, which was not easy to find and replace.
